Everything that I have bought from BXpanded has been top notch, well thought out andf useful as his home page says how he does things. FEL aned BH dollies, FEL clamp on forks, light kit all beautiful additions. Owning your first BX is a slippery slope with endless possiblilites to upgrade and customize.
I purchased a 7 x 12 dump trailer from H & H trailers. The craftsmanship is poor, I have found in the 2 years that I have owned it. I would find a different manufacturer. Having a dump trailer has been great, and the BX25 as well, although for my use they are toys, that will never get used to their full potential, but its the only toy that I really have, so I don't mind spending the money, and taking the time to customize my baby. I would also get a 14' trailer next time to have the full unit in the trailer, and the FEL not resting on the front rail. Just fabricated a plastic pattern to send to the welder for my tool box holder last night. I don't have a welding machine, but I do know how to make a pattern to follow. Once that comes back, I have an old ammo box that I intend to mount onto the bracket. There is definitly a need for storage of pins, gloves, wrenches, etc, and no place to put it all on the factory tractor.:thumbsup:D

I am thinking trailers as well here and heavily on a dump trailer. IMAGO Trailers is somewhat close ot me...they look solid, I will be looking further at them soon.

I am struggling with trailer size. Do I want the FEL to hang in a bracket over the tongue AND the BH rear section to hang out the back with a 10' trailer or do I go 12' and have just one hang out or I think it needs 15' to fit FEL and BH inside. I ahve to nail down dimensions but that is my thinking. I would perfer ot stay smaller but....I do think I would want no more than 6' wide inside, so width does not become tough to drive. It is a small tractor, I am trying to keep the traile rsmall too, hard to do.

I put my BX24 - sometimes with a hog attached - on a ramp trailer with a 16' deck. The trailer is 8'6" wide and is rated at 7000#. Disc surge brakes. Trailers like a dream. Tongue weight is not a problem (too light or too heavy) and the dual axles make for a very stable tow.

I wish it was a tilt trailer, but otherwise I wouldn't go an inch shorter or narrower.

A dump trailer is a different deal, and if that's what you need so be it.

Just IMNSHO, don't think that keeping the trailer as small as possible is really an advantage.

On hooks, I prefer chain hooks since you can drop any link of 1/4" or 3/8" chain into the hook and hold the chain in place. Makes for lots of flexibility chaining up various sized objects to the bucket. I use a slip hook off the draw bar to pull out saplings and whatnot. Just throwing it out there for your consideration.

Also, on trailers, my 14' is a smidge small for the BX25 in full dress. Bought it when I owned a BX1860 so it was plenty for that. No budget for anything longer at this point.

Hi Artisan,

You'll enjoy that machine. Do they come with some kind of HST fan protection these days? I'm one of he sadder-but-wiser ones around here who added crunch plates _after_ the damage was done :(

I just bought a land-pride tiller for my '24. Haven't tried it yet. The loader, hoe, and bush-hog have been mighty handy. And fun.

Oh, was that a cigar? Thought your dog had made a mess again...

I need ot crawl under thar and look! Iwill be buying or making if it is not there for sure.

Except I live in SO Calif and land is EXPENSIVE. I have 1/3 acre, value maybe 800K ! I have an 8'-4" wide opening to BACK UP THRU. I am good backing up, I have a Toybox Trailer that is 26' long and I wiggle it in and out but I want to keep something I may have to back in regularly manageable...another reason why I want to keep it at 6' ID if possible. We shall see, no final decisons yet.

I think I measured a quick 15' minimum for a fully dressed BX25, bucket down, BH pinned. It was a quick measurement, I need to get serious and measure but good. THANX for the pics! Gotta love pics!

My BXpanded 5/16 clip-on hooks arrived yesterday. Haven't opened the box yet.

They aren't cheap. My Kubota dealer said they usually weld on hooks and add reinforcement and he was skeptical about the clip-ons. He hadn't seen the BXpanded hooks. After looking at their site his comment was something like "looks like they'd work well - and ability to move them is worth something."

Might be worth looking into.

__I prob would have already ordered the BXPanded clip in hooks if they were 100 bux, not more, for a pair, I am NOT saying there too expensive, not at all, they are what they are. Heck if I made those I would prob ask 300 a pair! It is preceived value. I may end up w/ them, ya never know. I certainly would perfer to send my dabloons to list members then strangers! :)

I too wanted to keep the trailer as small as possible. I could have had the 14 footer for the same price actually, but had the idea of keeping it as small as possible. Prolly a better idea for whatever trailer yer considerin' to put your tractor in their before you buy, then you'll have a better idea if that's the way you want to do it. 6' is too narrow (my thoughts) I just think if you go too small, you don't have options for those extras you'll be acquiring later! Mine is 7' wide and with a 54" MMM and grass catcher hangin' off the back, it pretty well just fits side to side.
