BX25 Full Cage Rollbar

LOL at you! You don't like it when someone points out the safety issued with your little tractor do you. What I posted had everything to do with this thread. "SAFETY" It's his tractor not yours. Think about it DA! If it is safe with the ROPS that is on it now, then anything he adds will just make it safer. You're just one of the people in this world that over thinks everything.AND THINK YOU KNOW IT ALL. Now STFU and let the man build this roll bars into this ROPS. Thanks for removing the picture of the cat 1 lawnmower with the over loaded cat3 weights dangerously hanging off the front of it. I would not want one of the educated city slicker to see that and think it was safe and get killed by it. I'm sure you would not want this also.

I for one don't appreciate the vulgar and inanely stupid language. I hope the admin sees this and is willing to act.

If you navigate to post #82 in my BX25 Goodies thread you can see a hint
of things to come via a U-Tube video I just made.

You can see one of the lower cage brackets I picture'd quite small & recently
in this thread. It is printed 1:1 scale on paper. EVERYONE needs to learn
how to draw in CAD, is is so cool. Look at that piece of paper, that is
the part I drew, printed and put in place prior to pulling the water-jet trigger...
It makes conceptial become reality and can show a problem before
you spend the big money for parts to be cut.

Artisan,

Sorry for the issues on your thread. I blocked his future posts, so I don't see them. I apologize if it has taken away from what you are working towards here, and you're right, I shouldn't have responded. I am not sure that I understand people intentions like this. Anyway, thank you, and hopefully we can get back to your roll cage design...How did the cage that you had fabricated come out?

Artisan, I agree that cam is great but I am working on getting a plasma cutter and more hand tools so I can just build stuff instead of fooling around with the cnc manufacturing companies. Every tool has its place and I want it all. :)

That's an impressive setup. Thanks for the ideas ...

So I pulled the trigger on a rear anchor design. It took days of pondering
and vasilating back and forth over this or that or that and this on and on.
I finally decided on the strongest, simplest design my cranial could conjure up.
One of my demands was the ability to remove the canopy w/o too much bs.
I will be able too by pulling 2 U-Bolts...done deal.
In this first pic I will pull the U-Bolts holding the Canopy to the ROPS
and I will marry in a piece of 3" x 3" x .250" wall square tube,
w/ radius'd-box-ends. I will prob go w/ 9/16" fine thread pro U-Bolts
(8) w/ tall nuts and thick washers which will marry the rear A Pillar
anchor to the OE ROPS w/o violating the OE ROPS one iota...

All U-Bolts will be 3.125" ID x 6ish" long professionally made.

I started the process of making a template and plasma cutting the stock.
The radius of teh OE ROPS is not a consistant radius.

cage-3.JPG

Laying in .5" x .250" thick short pieces of flat bar to make a radius'd end that is box'd.
It will be VERY strong. Stronger than the ROPS I am sure.

Viola! 1 end roughed in. The trick is going to be cutting teh other end.
I am kinda **** and I want a snug fit...oh the pains...oh the pains.

Can ya buy the OE frame paint from the dealer?
That grey color?

I like your setup. I think I'm going to do pins for my canopy. I'll probably have some 3/16" or 1/4" plate brackets bolted to each side of the rops and use pins to retain the fops at the top of the rops and bottom of the loader.

I'm going to try to make it light enough for me to remove on my own without tools. I think it will vibrate a little but I'm going to mount it with lots of rubber.

I think the roof will be 1/16" aluminum diamond plate with a 2" by 1/8" thick square steel tubing perimeter frame. I will put a rubber gasket between the aluminum and steel to dampen the vibrations.

I plan on attaching worklights to it and using automotive style electrical disconnects for easy removal.

I was at the dealer last week and they had a couple of different oranges (I had to ask which was the correct one) - and they also had at least 2 different greys.

Long answer short - yes, You should be able to get the correct grey color at the dealer.
