Call a nearby dealer. They have cash prices and zero down, zero interest pricing. But you are in the 16.5K to 18.5k range depending on a few accessories.
I traded a BX2660 to Barlows for a BX25 and then traded him the BX25 and a B2320 to a B2620 FEL BH. Oh, I also did some other trades with them like a F2680 to a F3080 and others.
In Ky a new tractor purchase for a Ky resident that does not fill out the For Farm use certificate the sales tax is 6% of the purchase price. $20000 purchase becomes $21200.
In Ky, trading in a $15000 tractor toward a $20000 tractor results in a purchase price of (6% times $5000 difference equals $300 thus the $20000 tractor is $20300 (less the $15000 trade in for a cash or finance cost of $5300).
Sooo, if selling the tractor yourself, in Ky, and buying a new tractor in Ky the result is in the price range given above one has to get $900 more for their private sale vs trading the used unit to the dealer for the price to be equal. Then one has to decide how much more they have to get in their private sale to be worth the risks/frustration/aggravation of dealing with nice people and idiots.
This is a very specific example of a in state transaction in Ky.
If a person from out of state buys from a Ky dealer the Ky dealer doesn't have to collect Ky state sales tax. Barlows doesn't.
Good luck on the move/trade/sale/purchase/transaction. I like trading with nice folks and nice dealers. :cool2:
Thanks for the information. I live in MA and you have to pay sales tax on the full price. No credit for the trade in. Bought a BX 25D. 54" mower, Bagger, LED work lights and mechanical thumb. 12,500 net with trade and paying full sales tax.
I had about 368 hours on it. It is in perfect condition, with 54 inch mower and Bagger with FEL. I am concerned that anew machine will be just as reliable as the old one.
I have used the 2230 for about 9 years mostly for mowing. Yes 54 inch with Bagger and FEL. Beautiful machine, I hope the new one is as good, 368 hours.
