Hello Dragoneggs,
Was wondering how your rear remotes project is coming along?
DAT, unfortunately they are sitting on my shop table. I have the remotes and the cylinders. I need to fabricate a bracket to mount on my ROPS and then determine the hose lengths to get back to FitRight for fab.

My day job which has been extensive travel lately has prevented from getting much done around the house other than to keep the grass mowed and other necessary maintenance. But thanks for the nudge... I hope to get going on this project again in June!

We are waiting anxiously. Can’t wait for a nice write up so I can copy!

Having trouble finding real estate to mount the remotes. Putting close to easy reach to the controls and not blocking the seat swivel for BH use is proving to be a real challenge!

When I was planning this and never done it; I concluded that the most appropriate place was under the FEL joy stick. Pick up the PB at the FEL control under the floor at the input port (P). Snake the hoses between the floor pan and the HST. 3 ports is than 6 hoses. I planned to use 1/4" hose as most rear functions will need an orifice anyway to slow down actions.

Reminder, you promised to let me know when to come over and commiserate with you.

Yes, Ron... have definitely not forgotten your offer... just need to find a day. Crazy is my work schedule and when not working for a living, I have to do family or other higher priority things. But I shouldn't be complaining.

On the placement, yesterday in fact, I took the remotes to the tractor and started looking at the right side under the FEL control with some kind of a bracket coming off the FEL tower as the ROPS options don't look good.

I will be in touch!

Just stumbled on this. Might help...? I think the seat would still swivel in this position as long as you spin the “correct” way. I haven’t cut down the ubolts on my bxpanded ROPS toolbox so they stick out a bit, but I can spin the seat around without much trouble as long as I turn the back side of the seat away from the bolts.

Thanks JK... Yeah that spot over the left side rear fender is an option. I would prefer to stay on the left side away from the fuel cap but my mini Kubota tool box is in the vicinity. I will take a closer look at the link you posted and take another look. I like the idea of short hydraulic lines that are easier to route. The other thing I need to play with are the ergonomics of working the levers in that position vs. Ron's proposal up forward sort of under the FEL control.

Hello Dragoneggs,
Wondering if you’ve found time to get this project started? Definitely following and looking fwd to your install.
Thanks!

Crap NO! Way too much work travel and other projects. Really need to get on this!!! Parts are still sitting on my workbench waiting for me to fabricate a bracket to mount the remotes. Keep pestering me and I will be guilted into getting on this. :ashamed:

I am going out of town for 2 weeks. Set a date and I will come over and we can at least work out the location together. My linkage on the FEL system is starting to get sloppy and am even considering changing out the whole thing and install new valves at that front location. I would add the rear remotes to that package. I am not fond of the existing joy stick either. My research indicates snaking 1/4" hose between the floor plan and HST looks feasible. When I get there I will show you my ideas instead of a bunch of rhetoric.

Hello Dragoneggs,
Just thought I touch base to see if that BX25 rear remote project has crept towards the front burner again?

Looking forward to seeing this project when it does.

All the best!

Oh god... afraid someone would ask soon. Okay I promise to get out and get this moving this month!

Okay the long awaited update to install my Top n Tilt and rear remotes! I ran out of excuses especially being grounded due to COVID so here goes.

One of my excuses was the difficulty in finding a suitable location for a mount not to mention the lack of real estate on a BX. Another of my excuses was the rear remotes are extremely heavy to hold in place while trying to figure out a bracket attachment scheme. Today I had an epiphany... build a cardboard model representing the remotes and get busy with this aging project!

IMG_3522.jpeg IMG_2102.jpeg

This helped me with getting the ergonomics and mount/dismount and cup holder access right as well as figure out what the bracket needs to look like. Once the box was put in place I cut and folded a cardboard bracket that would fit into the tight space and help me define the interfaces.

Decided to mount this to the ROPS. Once I got a decent idea of what the bracket looked like it was time to take a piece of 1/4in steel plate and plasma cut the outline. Basically an 'L' shaped piece that would require two bends and 4 drilled holes. Two holes to mount the remotes to the bracket and two holes to mount the bracket to the ROPS.

IMG_4221.jpeg IMG_5817.jpeg IMG_3166.jpeg

Realized I didn't get enough descriptive pictures so I will capture some more as soon as I get back on this project. The bracket has two bends... one is about 135degs (don't quote me) for the leg supporting the remotes, and a second slight bend to line up the remote with the seat.

IMG_3493.jpeg IMG_7812.jpeg IMG_1848.jpeg

Got this far and realized the aux tool box is going to have to be moved up slightly so I can move the bracket up and outboard a bit to clear the seat. Not a lot of play here as I don't want to interfere with the ability to fold the ROPS. Cutting it close.

This means I will also have to bend the bracket a bit more to keep the remote mount level because of the shape of the ROPS where I am mounting the bracket. Further, I need to make sure I can still swivel the seat for backhoe ops. Did I say I was working in tight quarters? Stay tuned....

Okay, tweaked the bracket and repositioned the little tool box upward and the remotes fit! Made sure the ROPS still folded, and more importantly, I can still swing the seat around for BH operation. I think I can still use my cup holder as well!

Bracket almost finished. Decided to sneak it in to my wife's kitchen oven while she isn't looking and bake the enamel before hopefully mounting it tomorrow. Wanted to go with the Kubota dark gray since I am mounting it to the ROPS but couldn't find it so went with the Kubota Orange II.

Got the bracket and remotes installed... mounted the bracket without welding or drilling into the ROPS.

IMG_3917.jpeg IMG_3931.jpeg IMG_7615.jpeg IMG_2800.jpg

Now my concern is the Power Beyond connection. It is located about 2in in front of the ROPS and pointed directly at it. might need a right angle fitting?

IMG_8965.jpeg IMG_9115.jpeg IMG_8728.jpeg

Extremely happy though that this is fitting snugly and integrating like it is supposed to be there!

IMG_3019.jpeg IMG_4322.jpeg IMG_2120.jpeg

I might shape the bracket and make it more streamlined but didn't want to lop of the excess on the bracket just yet in case I think of a possible dual use for that real estate such as a magnetic holder for something. :confused3:

Time to study the hose routing. Luckily Brian at FitRight is still with me on this project with respect to the hose fabrication/connections!

Nice work fitting and working around obstacles while still being ergonomically friendly.
Didn’t understand how the ROPS bolts to the bracket ? The sanded surface circles?

Wow looking good! I’ve been waiting for this for so long that this is like Christmas Morning. Although with how long it took you to get to it, it might take me 2x as long.
