Kubota BX2660 Ansung B2504 FE loader and Kubota MMM
My BX2660 has around 280 hours. Bought it with 180 hours.

I checked the front axle lube and it was low, changed and filled up.

When turning in 4wd with a heavy load in the bucket it acts as if it is binding up. Is this normal?

It doesn't pop, but just seems as though it's binding up/grinding.

Thanks

You should have a counterbalance weight on the Three Point Hitch.

If you do not carry a counterbalance weight on the Three Point Hitch you are putting great stress on the front axle and bearings.

The counterbalance weight should be 2/3 to 3/4 of your load weight.

I always have something hooked, either a BB or a pulverizer.

If you are turning on any kind of surface that has a little grip I'd say its normal. The front and rear tires are turning different distances. If you are on a slick surface, like wet grass or loss dirt, I'd say its not normal. I've used mine on hard packed gravel and felt it bind some.

Yeah, this is in dirt and dry grass

Check the front U-joint own the front driveshaft. Mine was completely worn out before 700 hours. Yours is lower hours, but its worth checking. Very easy to change and not expensive.

I may be wrong, but on the two Kubotas (BX2660 & B2620) that I've owned, some "binding" seems normal to me, even when just mowing. The binding (not grinding) is noticeable on the sharpest turns....and that's when it really tears up the turf when mowing.

Thus I only use use the front wheel drive when needed on hilly operations or when using the FEL as in moving gravel or dirt and the like.
Cheers,
Mike

Did you notice this sound prior to draining and refilling the front lube?

It could be there were some contaminents in the original fluid that got put back in suspension when you refilled the front end. Or did you put in some fluid that was an odd or not a good choice?

Lastly . . Any grease zerks relating to wheel bearings or tie rods or ???? That might be dry?
