Personally, I have respected all firearms that have been fired at me equally too! :D :D

Heheheh... That comment instantly caused me to remember a "Grunt" saying we used a lot forty years ago, "Those who draw fire tend to piss off those around them".

Hey, I am a halfbreed "green/orange" owner. My comment about the woman buying green wasn't based on anything to do with mechanical advantages such as removing the bagger, which she will NEVER do.

Women "generally" don't see mechanics. They tend to be visual and simple comfort oriented. A green machine tends to look more finished, smoother design, more comfort oriented controls, etc. That usually appeals more to women.

Men tend to look at how the frame is welded up or how tough the floorpan is or how well the hood latches or have lengthy discussions about the removal of the bagger.

I'm just talking from personal experience. If given a choice my wife has always chose the green machine leaving me to the orange machine. Don't ya love it when a plan comes together!!! ;)

Just sayin, could your wife be color blind?:) Not sayin she is cause I don't know her but is it something you have tested to be sure?:) Next time you wait at a red light and it goes through the colors, ask her what the colors are.:)
I bought a RFM that was smooth and sleek with invisible weld lines and Steve Barlow told me it was a Jolle? and made in France. I think it was red. It broke a few times on my rough yard. He took it back and gave me full price toward a 6' Landpride RFM that you could see the welds from 100'. It is a tank and is so heavy it sometimes would swing my B7800 tractor at the bottom of the hill. It was $1700 and the red French Jolle was around $1200 but if your going to use it on less than golf course smooth greens, the tank with heavy welds is what I want. When I buy implements that I am going to use now, I want to see the welds.:) I think you may have hit on something with your comparisons of the smooth vs the rugged look.

One BIG word of caution with the x700 series. There is no other piece of equipment that will depriciate as quickly as these do. You can pretty much knock 50% off what you paid right off the lot.

How can you be so right on some things and so wrong on this. Perhaps in your mind this is true but it's not reality around my part of the woods.

I see 10 year old 455's going for 60-70% of the original selling price.

1*Well the father in law pulled a fast one today and left work early without anyones knowledge. He tried one kubota dealer for a BX2660 with a 60" MMM and bagger with a rockbottom price of 14700. Off to the green dealer he went and lost interest in the X 748 Deere after seeing how well the Kubota was built in comparison and the easier on/off bagger set up the bota had to offer.

2*He then checked one more Kubota dealer on the way home and walked out with a BX2660 60" MMM bagger and (loaded tires for whatever reason the dealer threw them in) for $14200.
Thanks guys for all your help!!!!
1*and 2* Tell him I said congrats
