Paul: Yep, that planer was nice. I also got a 4 knife Delta 8" long bed jointer at that same auction, but it was single phase. I was a self-taught woodworker, and neither machine came with any instructions, etc., and this was almost 40 years ago, so there was no internet to go to, so getting the planer tuned up was hit or miss. It was a nice machine, and I wish I had it today. Keep those projects comin"!

Ya things are different now with the net. The world is only the size of a small room where everyone knows everyone. Self taught hey. cool. I've always found some of the best craftsmen were self taught.

Every farmer I ever knew were good welders, mechanics and electricians. I guess it was because they had to be self sufficient to survive. Out of all the occupations in the work the farmer always had my biggest respect. Truth be known I'm bett'en your one heck of a woodworker.

As for posting more projects. I'm afraid I'm going to wear out my welcome

Paul: when we get tired of looking at your projects, then we are just plain tired and ready for the grave! I think most of us like to see work well done, by someone who obviously cares about whatever he does. It is just that simple. Now, if you start tweeting about what you had for lunch...

Thank you very much guys. Glad your enjoying these crazy threads of mine :D Varmint i appreciate your kind word and don't worry i won't be tweeting you what I had for lunch. No sir. I'll include it in my posts. I had Swiss Chalet for lunch today

Anyway this weekend is a long weekend for us Canadians. It's called "Labor Day weekend" and is the last long weekend of the summer. I still do get to sneak out to the shop and do a few things for myself though. Earl didn't hit us at all and the last two days have been in the 80's and sunny. Great time to take the wing out for a ride.

Today I had to go look at a job in a community called "Port De Grave". This community is about 15 minutes ride from where I live and is a fishing community. some of the best crab in the world is landed here and the boats run way over the one million dollar mark. The third photo is of the North Atlantic by the way.

Seeing I had to take a look at some work there I took the wing and my camera so I could so you guys what it looks like around these parts.

After I left Port De Grave I decided to go to a community called "Cupids" and snap a few pics of that place for you. I live 25 minutes from Cupids and thought you'd like to see this place as well.

Now what makes Cupids so important is that it was the very first place in English Canada to settle and there celebrating there 400th anniversary this summer. I attached a few pics of that place for you as well.

What does this have to do with welding you ask? I was welding here a few weeks ago  How's that guys! :D
