BX22
I am new to the group. Just traded up from a large frame Simplicity to a BX22 (end April delivery, I hope!). My main uses are mowing and snowblowing my 1700' driveway. The FEL and BH will be welcome back savers in the garden and woods as well.

Now my question, I have seen some simple winter "cabs" that consist of a simple frame (and using the ROPS) and are constructed of mostly clear plastic. The purpose is for wind/snow protection when using the blower. There are some nice cabs out there but they have nice prices as well, and would like to have something that I can easily install in winter and remove for other seasons. I assume that one designed for a BX2200 will fit a BX22 since the overall size/shape is the same with the two tractors. Since snow is now many months away, I have time to try to find one.

Anybody know any mfgs of something like this ?

Thanks

paul

Hi PauL:

I don't know anything about BX22s or BX2200s but I have a F2400 with a full steel and glas cab that I remove for the summer. I just use the winch on my ATV to lift it on and off the tractor. It takes less than an hour to go either way. The cab has a heater which lets me plow snow in comfort, even in the worst possible conditions. There are lots of aftermarket manufacturers of cabs out there so you should have a good choice. I'm sure other members of TBN will give you more specific advice.

Hi Paul:

I don't know much about BXs but I do have some experience with cabs. I had a frame and plastic cab on my previous tractor. It was better than sitting out in the cold. I now have a F2400 with a full steel and glass cab and heated. It is great and worth the difference in price. I use the winch on my ATV to lift the cab on and off. It takes less than an hour to go either way. Given the popularity of the BX series I am sure that there either are or soon will be cabs offered by several manufacturers so you should have a good choice. I'm sure that other TBNers will be able to offer you more specific advice.

techman,
Be carefull buying anything that is designed for a BX1800/BX2200 as the ROPS is wider on the BX22.

I took the cab off the tractor this morning. What you can't see in the picture is the cable that runs from the ATV winch to a pulley on a chain hanging from the branch and down to a blue strap attached to the cab.
