Buying Advice cab tractor

If you buy a new Bobact tractor right now, you can get a :licking:free front mounted snow blower! You would then be able to use that extra cash for modifications or even a steel car port!

One real advantage of a cab tractor is that you don't really need to put it indoors. Sure, its nice to have it all spic and span in a garage, and the sun doesn't fade the paint so quickly, but having a cab on an outdoors tractor means you don't have the controls exposed to the elements and don't have to plop your butt down in a frozen puddle when you mount up...plus, you don't come in from snowblowing looking like a yeti.

If you are within a couple of inches why couldn't you hammer and chip away your cement floor right where the wheels track as you enter the barn.??.....I mean, you could trowl up a nice finished "ramp" and the water in the garage could easily be swept out the door.

But hey, what do I know.:confused2:

I'm seriously considering milling the cement floor down to gain my inch. Dealer is checking into possible aftermarket tires that would have a lower profile. If that doesn't pan out I may try to modify the floor.

I recommend you get the cab tractor you really want and let it sit outside until you work out storage for it. Mine sit outside all the time and never seem to get sick. I am in the process of building a new shop but as mentioned before cab tractors can be parked outside without issues.

You will probably get a lower profile with turf tires, but you do seem to have some real hard decisions to make. One thing I would not do is give up on the cab.

I agree with jenkisph, our tractors often sit outside and most ag tractors live outside year round.

Local Kubota dealer says if I put the next size smaller tire on the B3000 it would drop it down enough to fit my garage. If I understand him correctly he wants to put the tires from the next sized down Kubota on this tractor. My question to all here is what are the negatives of doing this? He claims as long as we are changing both front and rears we keep things from mucking up anything on the 4WD and by putting tubes in the tire it mitigates any loss in load rating. Would appreciate input from someone that isn't trying to sell me a tractor!

I can't see much of a down side as the tire diameter is going to vary with Ag, Industrial and Turf on the same model. With the smaller diameter, you will lose a bit of reduction in top speed.

We put different size tires on our CX80 when we wore the originals out because that size and type was no longer available; no problems. My father in law had custom tires put on a new tractor when he bought it with Turf/orchard on the back and Ag on the front; no problems/downside in over 20 years. I guess it comes down to whether or not you trust your dealer.

Rideit,

Get the tractor you want and deal with the storage after. You basically answered your own question with the 8ft garage upstairs. I would keep it there and let the attachments sit out side.

You live in Minnesota - GET THE CAB. Don't kid yourself. You won't regret it. Either the Kubota or the Deere will be great, compare them carefully. You do not need the extra power of the Deere 3720 with your property. The 3320 will do all that you need almost certainly. I would not down size the tires just to squeeze the tractor into a smaller space.

I agree with others on buying the tractor that you want and figuring out the storage later. Compromising what you want for what you can presently fit into storage will certainly leave a sour taste in your mouth later. I bought my cab tractor without even thinking of how to store it because that was the tractor that I wanted. Just luck that it fit in one side of my shed which is about 2 feet higher than the other side because it is built on a sloping hill. The cab is 102.4" high and my building is about 108" but it sets outside sometimes which doesnt hurt it at all on the inside, maybe a little bit of paint fading if left out all the time, but my blue tractor doesn't fade like the red and orange do.
