I've been away from TBN for awhile - too many projects! My L3710 just doesn't have the loader power I need these days and when I bought up the subject with the COE (Chief Of Everything /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif - and she gave the go-ahead. Sooo, sometime next week I will be sitting in a nice new L5030 HSTC. I wanted the cab for the winter snow-plowing but I can see where field work is gonna be a whole lot more fun too. Also getting the 72" HD bucket (quick attach of course) and 6' Land Pride brush hog. All other implements will migrate from the 3710. New loader is great - what a difference those front linkages make.

Our big barn is coming down in July (more details soon), piece by piece so we can repair and rebuild it. I'll definitely be getting in some prime tractor time this year.

That will be a big change Andy. Besides having a stronger loader, you will like the increased dump/roll angles and higher lift height. You will certainly find the HST beneficial for many things, do not know if your 3710 is HST.

I had HST before and wouldn't have anything else for loader work. The loader is the whole reason for the purchase though that cab sure is quiet too.

Congrats on the new upgrade. You may want to think about getting some QA forks. They really come in handy for those home improvement jobs and working with lumber.

Just a suggestion that has really helped me with my projects.

Got 'em already. Right now I have forks and a 1 yard light duty bucket for the loader (both QA) and am trading up on the HD bucket. For the rear; a Norse 450 winch, york rake and a landpride blade, as well as the new LP brush hog coming in. With the improved lift arm power I am now going to be looking at a serious counterweight for the back end as I work with granite for the stonework.

Tractor is finally here - sort of. The dealer dropped off the tractor Wednesday just as I was leaving for a trade show so it had to wait until this morning for me to try it out. They delivered it with a light duty bucket so I could use it while they wait for the extra height tooth bar that will work with the bolt-on edge of the HD bucket. 'Discovered that they forgot to install the 3 remotes that I asked for and suspect they also forgot the block heater too. 'Really did appreciate that they worked hard to get this to me for the weekend /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

First picture is of the COE (Chief of Everything) - she thought the cab was a great idea /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

This shot is of the new backhoe mount. The Woods 9000 now looks kinda small on the 5030 (which is a bit bigger then my old 3710 even excluding the cab). All this fancy new paint makes me think about repainting the 9000 - I'll add that to the "list" /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

This new mount does away with the long "gun carriage" mount that was used before and instead uses a new box frame on the backhoe along with a very compact frame that runs from the rear loader mount, below the rear axles and bolts on where the ROPS would be in a regular rig. I have to pull 2 big (1 1/4"?) bolts to remove the backhoe - but that's it. Much better ground clearance though I lose a little bit of digging depth. I'll let you know soon how the dismount goes as I was working on a few stumps today.

Here's a bottom view of the new tractor. I'll probably never see it this clean again! Orange rails to the rear are the new backhoe mount. I like how they stay close to the wheels so the actual impact on clearance is almost negligable.

Note trained attack cat in driveway guarding Dad's tractor.

OK - now we get some body shots /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Here's a rear view with my now rusty looking Woods 9000 mounted. That glassy cab can be regarded as the BDS - Blackfly Defensive System /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif - works great.
