About Northern, anybody else remember when they sold (tried to sell?) refurbished Bobcat skid steers? How'd that work out for them?
They had refurbished dozers too. I wanna think they were yanmar.

We have a Lowes and HD a couple hundred yards from each other. We don't have anything near 100K. Maybe 20 or 30K in a 10 mile radius.
Locally, the Lowes seems to be more geared toward the do it your self crowd. HD tries to be more contractor oriented. The nearest Lowes is 20 miles away. I used to go to HD more, but I am buying more from Lowes, a new exit from I96 opened up last year, and they are much quicker. Btw, since these companies came here, every lumberyard in the county closed up. A couple tried to be builder's only supply, but that didn't work. Howell, population 10K? had 3 lumberyards before the big boys came to town. Of course, we had a lot of other small stores before Wallmart and others came in. But we have much better selection, and better jobs - the locals never paid anyone much above minimum. Progress is tough, but some folks benefit.
And now Walmart just announced that in the U.S. it is closing 154 stores across the the U.S. as part of closing 269 in total (both us and international). 45,000 employees to be dropped. . . Probably a result of recent pay increases and an economy not nearly as strong as our Governmrnt says it is.

Well, they tried, I guess you could say.
You forgot to add: many of the employees will transfer to "other" stores, and that WW is building "I think" 310 NEW stores...And now Walmart just announced that in the U.S. it is closing 154 stores across the the U.S. as part of closing 269 in total (both us and international). 45,000 employees to be dropped. . . I'd say that's better than what Menards did! Menards bought a defunct tractor company/plant, (CHEEEEP) and kept the workers on to build tractors out of all the "left over" parts.I can say they sold rebranded tractors for a while but never were "in the business" long term. It was just "an item on the shelf/floor" and if it doesn't make a profit it is not sold any longer.
The just stopped construction of 2 or 3 stores in D.C.You forgot to add: many of the employees will transfer to "other" stores, and that WW is building "I think" 310 NEW stores...
SO, they are doing some "weeding" and "planting"...
