Have you checked on your local building codes? They may well require grade-stamped lumber for framing use. Steve

All good ideas, now I just need to find the time to read up on everything. Wife and I are building a 1000sf house, we have the floor in, power and water ran also. The reason I'm researching the logging ideas is because it's starting to get cold here (31deg tonight) and I don't want to get caught off guard, I plan on living in the house by the end of the year. I can post some pics if your all interested.

the way i read it was this was for firewood heating, not framing.. BUT I can also see it your way
