I have need to lay hundreds of feet of irrigation line and some direct burial electrical cable. Has anyone built a Cable Plow (vibrating blade that slices and pulls pipe or cable in one pass) for a PT? If so what are the critical design factors for one that will lay line 12" deep? I live in the deep south and ice is not an issue. How much vibration force is needed for clay soils? How about tips for isolating the vibration from the tractor?

Thanks in advance,

See my post in your sod cutter thread. You could use the plow share to make multiple passes, each one deeper than the last until you reach your desired depth. Then attach a trailing edge 90 degree bent pipe and lay the cable at the bottom of the trench with that. The nice thing about having it our front is you can very easily steer the plow share again and again through the same trench on each pass. Can't do that very well with a rear mounted unit.

You don't need to be so complicated. Just get a vertical ripper tooth and fasten it to a QA plate, or hitch.

Commercially, you can get them from groups like these guys;

Lots of photos to help you out.

That tool looks pretty handy but I think, in my neck of the woods, you would rip the hitch right out of your truck before you got to far. I can see where it would work good if you didn't have big rocks.
