Nothing much surprises me anymore...

At one time I would make the trip to attend hearings in Sacramento and local City Council meetings to speak on agenda items... sure, everyone was polite and nodded their collective heads... but with the rare exception, it was just lip service as the agenda had been set and these meeting were simply going through the required regulatory motions.

Plus they are experts at the game... on one very hot topic the chambers were filled with maybe a 100 wanting to speak... for months the item would be put over to the next meeting... think it happened 5 times.

In the end, I was one of two people that spoke, it was nearly 1 am in the morning... the lively crowds that had lined up 6 weeks before were all gone... they quickly tired of wasting time only for the item to be rescheduled... and so it goes.

This same thing is happening in my county. A group has taken over by manipulating the voters and started pushing an agenda that was not even discussed during the election. Now that their agenda is in the open, people are furious but they are being ignored. Hundreds will go to public meetings to speak against what is happening but they are ignored. A few of the minions will speak from the text they are given to read by the their puppet masters, but they are a vast minority. The ignorance and stupidity of the voters is shocking but I guess it does not surprise me anymore either...

Later,
Dan

I seldom submitted anything in writing... I would register to speak during the public comment phase and we have a lot of them... especially with city issues and regional such as actions of the air quality management group...

On doctors orders, my bride and I have drastically increased our fiber intake. I think there is a good chance we are making to much methane to live in California.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing that comes out of California that surprises me. What's depressing is that the cancer some how seems to spread across the nation.:confused3:
Maybe the dairy industry should boycott the state totally. See how the wacko's like going without their yogurt.

It is true... only a matter of time before it goes nationwide or even worldwide.

What starts in California doesn't stay here... maybe it is California's status as the 6th largest economy or that California is a donor state sending far more to the Feds than it receives.

it is a safe bet that it's just a matter of time... look at Catalytic Converters and Unleaded fuel... can't tell you how many told me it will never happen in their States... never really is a very short time.

I wish they'd use some of that money to fix the friggin roads. This state has some of the worst roads around, all you have to do is cross a state border and like magic you get a smooth ride again.

Come to Utah after winter; you'll think your roads are smooth as glass.:) Ours eat salt all winter.

Well at least they have an excuse, most highways in this state never see so much as a snowflake. BTW I've been to Utah several times and didn't think the roads were so bad. I know they do a lot of road maintenance in the summers in states that see a lot of hard weather over the winter but they don't seem to bother with fixing any of them here. What with the studded tires and the snow plowing CO and WY used to have ruts worn in the highways every winter. They'd repave in the summer then do it all over again the following year.

Noticed that when I was in Washington State a few weeks ago... roads are vastly better and the State doesn't even have a State Income Tax.
