We again plan-and-hope to head south to camp on Friday and its location is on the 6 of Herman's snow depth. No poor driving weather is forecasted on Friday. On Thursday we plan to stop there and roll the trails on our way to Marquette which is east of camp.
That's almost 22 feet of snow!!!

It was so cool when we got 10" down here in January of 2025. That was the most ever in my 65 years. We usually get a trace of snow every 4-5 years.

A few more pics taken yesterday. The teenage neighbor boy came along and I gave him every opportunity to operate the new 4x4. We both think very highly of it and he's operated our 6x6 much.

I find it very interesting how quickly the snow tapers off away from the Keweenaw. And if this years data is normal Covington is right at the end of the snow band like you said.

We agree, when NOAA shows snow maps, Camp Covington is on the western edge of the Negaunee snow range and requires a NE wind to see lake snow.

Got to camp at dusk in 45 degrees and high winds. Did snow a skiff here since Thursday when wr rolled. Was 35 inside on arrival and got 2 fires going now but the propane will be off soon. Sure is breezy out and the temps are a falling. Suppose to be a low of 6 here tonight.
