It's not rocket science and it will work fine either way, sure isolating it is great keeping it on a pallet also is ok. The drain you can busch it down to a 1/4 put 90' elbow with a approx 5" nipple and a gate valve. Or you can also buy a automatic drain that you can work up easily to open for a predetermine amount of time when the compressor turns on. You can either wire it in to the pressure switch, or motor to make that happen. Also I noticed somebody sayed that the compressor was running at 180 p.s.i if that is the case you should not run a single stage pump that high, if that is indeed what you have. I also could have misunderstood. But yes they are like a bomb when they rupture, we actually have a few different ones hanging from the ceiling in our shop with the stories to boot.
