Based on feed back from others like Bird, I left mine on the pallet and I'm happy with it. Seems very stable on there. Sure do like the CH compressor too.

Chris....

I still have that big kahuna compressor in my barn if you want it.......

No mounting needed. Its mounted to a skid frame.

drive would be a killer :)

I have an IR 5 hp single stage, 60 gallon compressor. The instructions said to remove it from the pallet. The pallet was made from 1" thick hardwood, so I left it on the pallet and mounted ribber isolation feet on each of the four corners. This gives a wide stable base for the compressor.
It sits in the loft of my shop on a plywood floor. I was concerned with the noise that would be produced. Luckily, the vibration and noise are minimal.

my 60g ch is darn quiet. way -WAY- quieter than my 120v small 2hp/4g pancake compressor...

I'm in the process of installing a new Quincy 2 stage upright and new piping in my shop. I was going to bolt it down using rubber pads (pieces of truck mud flaps) but the manual says bolt it right to the concrete. I'm guessing they know their business.

they got a good warranty? will they pay the labor to unbolt it, reload in truck and take back to store for a new one if it fails? if yes.. go for it!

ive done it both ways... the pads will cut alot of the noise out.

Soundguy's response caused me to call the Quincy factory to ask about their written instruction, "all vertical tank units be mounted as indicated WITHOUT isolators." Their response was that it was 1) OK to use (rubber) isolators and 2) just make sure not to bolt the unit down tight (!). Leave things a little loose to let the unit move a bit. Guess I'll use the rubber.

Good idea in as much as I have a 7.5 Quincy QP Vertical. Mine sits on machinery isolation mounts and nothing else.

too funny.. their instructions in the box are .. um? incorrect or missleading?

who would want the unit to be mounted 'loose' and vibrating around????????

isolators seemthe way to go.. wood, robber or something... a vibrating unit will eat a bolt head off.. or hog the hole in the feet out eventually.. and hammer a divot into the concrete. IMHO.. poor choice on qunicy's part to suggest that.. :( :(
