Can I use a Cat 2 quick hitch on my cat 1 tractor, but with mostly cat 2 implements?

Well, I heard back from the Landpride guy, so far so good.

Yes, [for the HRL3578] you can use category 1 or 2, it has a stepped pin. And it's an 04 model.

I bought a HFT QH only to find it won't fit most of my attachments (maybe 1 or 2) without clear access to get the 'hook' under the top link pin on 'em. (ASAE standardization helpful) .... Off I go to order Pat's easy change 'cuz I'm drawn to its flexibility without committing to any confinement with the top link variations.

All but one of my tools have Cat-1 pins & my new (last month) tractor will handle all but one that has a fixed bar vs pins for the lift arms. I have a handful of bushings to slip on the smaller pins if I choose the Cat-1 to Cat-2 PEC setup, or could put Cat-2 pins on the others. I'm pondering whether I ought to just 'off' that 3-bottom plow with barely 30hp on the drawbar. (pure sand here, so a disc will do for most after some sub-soiler work.)

btw: My new iron (HST) has a seat safety switch and I stayed away from the recent conversation about whether to bypass such a thing. After learning to play 'Simon says' with range selector & brake lock it'll stay & I'll be ok with the lawyer-proof system & my butt covered against the worst possible scenario. (I can no longer nudge the HST pedal while standing alongside to line pins up to lift arms.)

Anyway, it was here that I got the tip about TSC's $25 top links, and my local store has 'em aplenty. So much for big variations if I can buy a few extra for certain attachments, with lengths & color codes for each vs constant huge adjustments. I'm ok with climbing down off the seat if I can muscle the s__ on & off at all. (PTO shaft, too)

My bottom line is that A QH is better than none. It's just a matter of considering all the options before I $pring for a few extra pieces. So, tell me to broom the ponderous plow & I'll be happy with Pat's Cat-1 setup, OK? :)

I'd love a plow like that!

Me too. Hard to find 3 or 4 bottom mounted plows around here without paying an arm and a leg.
