Can we clean it up?

As elections approach once again it seems TBNers have too much time on their hands.
Many otherwise interesting discussions NOT IN FRONT PORCH are being flooded by postings blaming stuff on political parties.
Now we've gone through a rough 7 years, had the hottest summer on record. It would be nice to calm down.
Could the mods please just move anything that devolves into political bickering to the Front Porch?
rough 7 years ?? how so what happen ?

hottest summer in record ?? where

calm down ? who is exited ?

What the hell is wrong with you people. The reason these things end up in threads is because we can't talk about anything that the government doesn't have their fingers in. You people need to get some thicker skin. I get not having full blown political discussions because they ultimately serve no purpose. But mentioning something in a thread and having it shut down is pretty damn ridiculous. If you don't like what's there go to the next thread. Jeez.

I'm sick and tired of people turning an interesting thread into a politcal war for 30 posts without ever touching on the main topic.
I think it’s a bit unrealistic to think you’ll join a worldwide public forum and only read responses that you think are all exactly what you want to hear/read.

Or join another forum... Lots out there and a lot tolerate political discourse as well. To name just one... www.smithandwessonforums.com Always intense political discourse on there and I just happen to be a moderator on it though I rarely moderate. No need to. When the members aren't castrated for making a comment, they tend to self moderate.

You don't have to be a firearms nut to be on there either. Lots of good threads not pertaining to firearms.

I, for one find having to 'sanatize' my comments on here so they don't get pulled, to be quite tedious.

Finally, if you don't agree with a comment, instead of whining or snitching on it, just don't read it.

I realize this is Christi's sandbox but really....

I do my level best to not derail a thread. I also am not a big politics discusser but when a thread about everyday living or tractors or rural life crosses into the political discussion that is at the core of the reason for the discussion to begin with it's ridiculous to dance around the issue and pretend that it doesn't exist. If it gets a thread closed down, so be it but I personally don't see any reason for that to happen either. But to pretend that everything is pumped with sunshine and rose petals is a bit naive.

that’s why they like it, it give us the illusion of choice, changes, voice and it keep us divided.
Without getting into pros and cons, I find that argument difficult to understand. It seems to me that there’s never been such stark differences to choose from.
