LOL

I forgot about the sign.

My son and his buddies drink up my beer. They're of age but I got tired of providing them free beer.

That's only part of the sign. Here's the entire sign and the wall where I had it displayed and yes, I was plenty PO'd when I made this and put it up. I caught **** (oops) from my wife for months til I finally took it down.

I got my point across...

That nice open wall looks like it was begging for a sign to hang on it.

Good post and point. Actually, I don't partake in the great tasting hops and barley beverage anymore but I would like to make a point as well. Just like the unwritten rules and laws of the open range there are those of the work shop as well!:D If you drink the drink from the fridge (whatever drink that may be) have the common courtesy to leave a little money or bring some with you next time! If you use up a man's welding wire, rod or grinding disc same rule applies....so on and so forth! Hey, let's someone start a thread on those "unwritten rules of the workshop"! I'll give one of you guys first stab at it!:)

Oh, Allen, great idea and show us a pic of it attached as well if you don't mind.

Years ago when my friends & I chugged lots of beer, me & the gang used to hang out at a house being rented by 3 of the crew, & this one beer drinking couple would always show up with one 6-pack, knowing d@mn well they were gonna drink probably 8-12 each. So, once theirs ran out they'd start swiping others. Man that was irritating as *&^%. It finally got to where we made up a sign on the fridge saying, "Nobody here is interesting enough or good looking enough that anybody wants to buy your drinks, so bring your own."

jayste,
I'll get a pic up these things in use. I might be able to tonight but I have a yard to spread nitrogen on this afternoon so it might be tomorrow.

I like the idea of a "shop rules" thread but where would it go??

Allen, by all means lay that nitrogen down first! Got some rain comin'?

Here a while back there was a thread on "Build-it-yourself" about shop tricks. I think I'll go ahead and start one there so look for it and lets get it moving!...after you get that Ni put down!

Ok, here's a picture of my box blade hooked up taken from the rear almost straight down on the top hook and the spool.
You can see that the flat in the center is a bit wide. The new ones are just a fit for the width of the hook on the quick hitch.
Seriously, I'm amazed at how much easier it is to hook up to my implements with this thing to center the quick hitch when I am off center just a bit.
Also a picture of one of my tool bars with the old John Deere 3PT hitch. Just so happens that the bottom hole in the upper hitch where the old wore out piece of pipe is that will be replaced with one of my spools, is a perfect distance from the lift pins to fit a cat1 quick hitch and of course bottom parts are adjustable for width. I don't worry about bushings to turn the bottom lift pins to cat2 size for use with the quick hitch, I just buy cat 2 lift pins.
I have several of these old diamond bar implements and I'm rigging each of them for a different purpose. The one pictured is for bedding but of course the bottoms are much too large for the spacing of my beds. I'll rig one for cultivating, one for chiseling and I don't know yet what I will do with the last one. Anyway, I search the country looking for this type of hitch and so far, I've bought 4 and have two more located.

Ya know, the only piece of equipment I have that I will never be able to use my quick hitch with is my Ford rollover plow and it's my favorite toy, er, um, I mean implement. :(

Oh yeah the nitrogen. Nope, no rain, just a good water hose.
Put down 100lbs of 45% urea. Turned the whole place white. It's gonna be pretty hot.
I told the little gal to water good and make sure her mower blades are sharp. :D
