I think that's a big benefit of TBN - all of the veterans are patient with us newbies.

Have a new BX2360 with MMM, FEL and rototiller. I have 6 acres, mostly grass and intend to have a 1/4-1/2 acre garden. I'll also be doing lots of landscaping and building a garage. My problem is that I can't get the dial on the MMM to turn all the way to the "TOP" indicator. I see this as important for next spring hen I'll be tilling up the garden. Is there some trick not well documented in the manual, or should I address the problem with my dealer. I really don't want to detach the mower if I don't have to.

Tim,

I know taking that deck off/on isn't the most pleasant chores in the world, but I sure don't care to run the tiller etc. with that joker hanging under the tractor. Wear and tear not to mention the extra weight can be a hassle.

Believe it or not, it gets easier the more you do it. On the positive side, it's a good way to get a good thourough inspection of the deck, blades, pullies and bearings.

Big dad,

I don't have a flat surface (yet - have to build a garage!) but when I do I plan on it. Hopefully i get it done before spring and gardening season. If not, maybe a couple of sheets of plywood will suffice in the mean time. I really have to get the garage done, don't like keeping the BX2360 under a tarp.

Tim,

Oooooohhhhkay...... I can see why. It sure is much easier and safer on a nice flat spot.

Good luck!

Oh, and did I mention the wife also wants the cars under shelter? Another reason for building the garage.

We have a concrete drive we use to remove the deck on our BX, but not JD2305 and a piece of plywood, particle board or just a couple of wide boards work pretty well also. My sons have pulled them both off in grass and rock, but they are pretty strong. It can be done, but I don't recommend it.
