Carhartt insulated bib overalls

same like issues as everyone else.

it would be nice, to goto some bigger store, let some person measure me up, and just order what would fit me, from some central location, and have them shipped to me for a good fit. without all the fuss... to expect brick/mortar stores to carry all sizes and in different fittings, is a bit insane. for both store owners, manufacture, and us...

some stuff just does not shrink correctly after a few washing either :/

Yeah, you got that right, I can't count the number of t-shirts that started out just rught and ended up coming out of the wash as middies, and NO ONE wants to be seeing my navel (and doo-lap)...

My wife gave me a pair of Schmidts coveralls from TSC. I'm 6'3" and they fit great. Plenty warm too. What I like best is the legs zip up to the hip and the chest zipper down to the crotch. Real easy to get in and out of, even with boots on.
Agree, I have a pair of Schmidts insulated bibs and they are terrific. Excellent fit and easy on and off.

Go to Carhartts website. They make every size imaginable. Order what size you need. Wide n short....skinny n tall....anything.

There are different styles of Carhartts. Some zip to knees others to hip. Some insulated all the way to your chest some just waist. I like the waist insulated ones but mine only zip to knees. Best thing about overalls instead of coveralls is you can pick how heavy of a jacket you need. Red lined is normal insulation and black is their arctic package. I use red. There website might be bast place for you though.

Have had Dickie brand clothing before. Really don't like it. It is a lot colder and doesn't seem to last like Carhartts.

I use a vest under my bibs to take up some of the slack. Bibs vest coat or no coat it's the combination for all seasons.

Well maybe not summer.

I've had Carhart and WearGuard and have to say I like the WearGuard a lot better. I found the insulation warmer but thinner so its easier to move in them. The insulation goes all the way up the bib. The strap hooks are like large buttons so they are easy to use. The leg zippers go up a little higher. They wear like iron and are cheaper. I don't think they are sold in stores but once you find the right size they are just a click away.

Having said all that, there's a general store along the road in Upton, PA that carries tons of styles and sizes. And more boots than anybody. I like to buy there when possible -- its good to support the little guy. Plus you get a nice portion of political commentary with every purchase.

Nice thing about Carhart is that if you get a pair of lined bibs you are not going to freeze or sweat to death during your work day. Wash at the end of the season and you get 5 years out of them. Very few work clothes last like their jackets and bibs. If your outdoors in the winter they are the best and outlast everything people get you at Christmas.

Yea in the six years I have had my overalls they get washed once a year. I wear them almost everyday at work when I'm outside and the temp is less than 30. Getting pretty rough, the lower hem is chewed up and various weld burns but not washing them extends useful life. zippers have held up excellent in dirty grimey conditions. (and no they don't stink since they don't get sweat on, just smell like a tractor lol)

I have both coveralls and bibs made by Carhart
I wear the bibs mostly with my Carhart jacket
I were my coveralls when climbing under the car or tractor with out my jacket

I will say this that when I bought my bibs that the brown ones were way too long for my mid section but then I tried on a pair on black ones that fit perfect

Even though I'm cheap (if you ask my wife) I buy Carhartt instead of Schmidt at the local TSC. In the past I've had nothing but trouble with Schmidt's zippers. Ditto for stuff that needs washed all of the time, like insulated hooded sweatshirts. Schmidt will fade beyond recognition in just one season.

Check out Berne Apparel. They are comparable to Carhart and less $$$$.

https://www.berneapparel.com/

I'll second that. I bought Berne coat/bibs last year and found they fit me better than Carhartt. Maybe not as high quality but they seem fine and were about half the price.
