Carhartt vs Dickies duck clothing

Around here carhart is a brand name the gang bangers and wannabees like to wear in the city, maybe that is why the price went up. Maybe this is one item left that you get what you pay for. By the time my dickies or other brands are wore out the washer cannot get them clean anymore any way, so they go for patches or other projects or 'last time uses' like painting or such.

When I had my Tree care business I wore Deckies work pants and they lasted me at least 3 times longer than any other work pants I tried. I didn't try carhart pants but the carhart jacket I now use is over 7 years old.

They both make good products

Like jimg said, I like TSC's house brand, Schmidt's. It's almost as good as Carhartt, but a lot cheaper. I have a lot of their stuff, and it's real rugged, and lasts a long time, even with the abuse I give it on my farm.

Carhartt carpenters pants is what I wear long lasting and comfortable. I have a pair of Carhartt bibs that are probably over ten years old.

I chose Dickies last time I bought overalls. The Carharts looked good but had a zipper in the front that I thought would scratch anything I was leaning over. My wife really preferred the Carharts., not sure why.

Iswitched to car hart blue jeans this spring.They are the most comfortable jeans i have ever wore Gonna try the lined ones this winter.

I have pretty much standardized on Carhartt.

I have never tried Wrangler Riggs, but the Carhartts last like iron and are much more comfortable than the standard Wranglers and Levis.

I tend to carry a lot of stuff in my pockets and the Carhartt pockets are enough bigger to make a substantial difference.

i have the carhart blue pants with flannel insulation, i don't have much use for them, once i'm out in the snow and i move a little i start sweating! maybe a pair for that himmalaya trip you've planned for all your life? i have the linned coat that the gas station attendants wear (you can't pump your own gas in NJ fyi) in the winter, but the zipper ripped off the bottom after like 2 years or winter use...
