i know how you feel - cdaigle430. I have all the necessary predators but they simply can not keep up with expanding rodent populations. I've never heard of chickens as a deterrent to mice. If this is the case - I wonder about Pea Cocks or Guinea fowl. Whatever - chickens, etc - the battle is then to keep them from becoming food for the predators.
Come to think of it - the ONLY "action" I've ever witnessed. A large Red Tailed hawk took a cotton tailed bunny. I'm sure the Barn owls & Great Horned owls do well at night here. At twilight you can see them roosting in my big pines.
