MikeInEburg, thanks for the good info. For the next year at least, maybe two, all of my tractor work will be on fairly level ground without too many tight turns. But, a couple years down the road, if I make it that far, I'll be working down in the heavily wooded canyon behind our house and steep inclines will definitely be involved. I will plan for that with your advice in mind!

Seeking advice on best cart/wagon to get to pull behind my 1025R JD, to haul bulk materials, dirt, firewood, brush, etc. Brand, size, feature recommendations are sought. Thanks.
For tight clearance areas this small carry all is very handy.

In the low receiver.

It will also work in the receiver hitch on your truck!

I picked up the Cory 3000lb running gear for $850 and added a 5x10 deck for another $160 including screws. For a tractor that weighs less than 2000lbs, I'd consider where you want to use the trailer because a heavier trailer can easily push a tow vehicle going down hill. While not that easy to back up, the Cory, Horst, or similar type trailers are easy to move. Mine is small enough to push/pull manually. Either behind the tractor or my Gator, the running gear works best for me while moving logs and firewood chunks.

Or you could try buying a used boat trailer, or something like that and customize it for your use. I sure wouldn't pay a bunch of money for a trailer made in china when there's tons of tongues and axles laying around ready to be used.

Steve_in_SEMich,
You are very right about being pushed by a fully loaded trailer. Even though my tractor weighs 9650lb it can be a bit exciting going down the valley in my driveway being pushed by a loaded trailer. There have been times I've thought of hydraulic trailer brakes. My trailer can be moved, when empty, with my ATV - however, not by hand. The box I made is 8' X 12' and has a 3/16 steel bed liner on top of 5/4 T&G exterior plywood. All of this is to resist damage when I load LARGE rock into the trailer.
