Legal on paper maybe, but not on a federal highway. The max gvw for 4 axles is 80,000 but it has to be 57' from center of the front axle to the center of the rear and all of the axles have to be dualed or super-single. The gvw placard states what the truck is licensed for with a trailer, not what it can hsul solo. The gvw on the trucks I drove was 105,500 with a 4 axle trailer but solo it was legal for 56,000 fue to length overal and axle configuration. A tandom axle set is legal for 34,000, my steer axle was good fo 18,000 and my drop was good for 9000. My trailer axles (four of them) wete eavh good for 20,000 but because they were close together the legal gvw of the trailer was. 50,000. Our 5 axle dump trucks were legal to 62,000. Our mixers with 5 axles were good to 72,000 but the booster axle was eight feet behind the drivers increasing the overall length of the truck. All of these configurations are in compliance with federal laws.
