Treated right they are a good tractor. My Dad bought a 970 new in 1974. Through the years he added a 1070 (that I now have) and a 1370. Is yours a yellow or white one? Cab? Powershift? Hope you have good luck with it.

Welcome to TBN . I worked for a couple of farmers , high school days . I drove 970 , 1370 , 1570 , 4690 . They were all red / white , 1975 and up. They were good tractors . The only problem I remember was the 1370 powershift spools hanging up. After operating the 4690 with a 34 ft. disc , going back to the other tractors were like driving a lawnmower . Have fun on TBN .
