Here's to benefit everyone reading this that can't quite visualize what the heck it is we're talking about. I snapped these on my cell phone at the dealer, so they're not the greatest quality.

I view weight in a tractor as an advantage as opposed to say weight in a race car. It seems we want most things to be lighter, including our bodies. But we want our tractors to be heavier. I would consider adding wheel weights and/or 3ph ballast to my future tractor even with CI wheels.

HEAVY + HORSEPOWER = 1 NICE TRACTOR :D

Now, now, I of the glued thumb (inside joke) want to caution you of being too heavy. As I mentioned several pages ago, (oops, in the other thread) my larger tractor (not large when compared to some, but my larger one) weighs in well over 10k without anything on the rear, and approaches 12k with my bush hog. During several months of the year, that's too heavy unless I wanted to go with dual rear wheels. I leave considerably more damage than traversing the area with a 55k 955 Cat crawler.

Gees, I sound awful, first I tell you "go big". Now I'm saying "watch your weight". :eek: Honestly, if you're getting over 10k, I'd make sure that you can remove some weight without too much hassle.

{It'll probably be next week before I get it because he has to order the third rear remote and lever kit.:( Thanks a lot MtnViewRanch.}

HEY, anything worth having is worth waiting for. And that extra loooong week, well, it will be worth the wait in the long run.:)

Of course it will. Good things come to those who wait. I'm a pro at delayed gratification.

May have found a way to get the CI wheels from the dealer. He will switch out the CI center and rim from a new tractor and change the tires over to mine and then remount my tires on the new CI wheels. That way I will pay for the original option plus the labor in the change.
This will give 800 plus pounds in fluid fill plus 650 lbs for the rims per wheel for a total of app 3000 lbs increased weight over the original weight without CI wheels or fill.

That sounds like a good plan. That's what I'm planning on doing. Only difference is, I'm going to be doing it at the beginning!:D Actually, as you know my upcoming tractor already has CI wheels on it. My dealer usually routinely fills the tires. In fact, they may already be filled. Now if the UPS guy would hurry up with that 3rd rear remote I'd be set!

figure with the loader and cab this baby will weigh in at 10,000 Lbs and then a 2000 lbs balance box to take it to 12,000 lbs. Should be able to do some serious FEL work

Don't get too carried away. You could sink in some soft soil and the only thing we'd see would be the tip top of your cab!:eek: Next thing you know you'll want to put dual rears on that thing!;)

Seriously, if you get that ballast box let me know how it goes. With all the talk on the other threads about the dangers of doing heavy FEL work without significant weight on the rear I am getting nervous.

Had a few experiences where I had to quickly clutch and lower the FEL to get the rear wheels back on the ground. Looking forward to a more safe operation and still take big bites with the FEL
