Then fact that race car drivers use synthetics would have nothing to do with the oil companies paying them money to use their product now would it ?

No, the winners have plenty of money to purchase whatever they need to win, the losers might need some help though.

I prefer Redline but I prefer Amsoils price. I like the long neck bottles Redline comes in, it just tastes better that way.

I also prefer Redline or Motul too but they are too expensive, Amsoil is cheap for the high quality basestocks they use. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Castrol = NOT! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I run the generic Super S or Advanced Auto brand 30W in my mowers, Rotella 30W in my 8N and 2N and, while it is still under warranty, whatever the owners manual recommends for my JD 5103. I run Castrol 10W-30 in both my trucks and I change the oil and filter every 3K miles. I use Castrol high mileage in my 97 F150 4WD. It has 115K miles and still runs strong. Guys, all arguing and "brand love" aside, if you follow the maintenance guidelines of your vehicle, you should not have a problem. My father and I have used Castrol our whole lives w/ no problem. I even use it it my 70 Chevelle that has a 350 hp small block. The motor is bored .060 and has been in the car for 7 years and has held up fine to my heavy foot. Use whatever oil you choose, it is a free country. To the gentleman who innocently started this thread about Castrol on sale, thank you. I shop at Advanced regularly and the heads up is appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
