This is not true of all science, there is some that even I can understand. The science of beer drinking for example starts off as understandable and goes the other way.

Dane

LOL. :) Good point.

Yeah, I was just having some fun with Skypup's ability. I'm sure he knows I'm just giving his kind a jab for for a couple of laughs. They are actually a rather impressive creed.

Followup: The IV treatment didn't work. By 24 hrs. after the bite, 15 hrs after the IV, redness, pain & swelling extended from her hand to her armpit. Visited the family doc, she outlined the area of redness with a pen & said if it spread beyond that area to go back to the ER. 10 hrs. later we were back in the ER & they gave her a different antibiotic thru an IV. This one worked, with marked improvement overnight. Back to the ER this morning for another dose as prescribed last night & things are looking up.

Anybody want a cat?

Good luck and keep on top of it. I hope that she has had a tetanus shot too and a rabies postexposure prophylaxis. Has that cat been throughly examined for rabies yet????

Some thrity odd years ago I once was a veterinary microbiologist in a regional reference laboratory and did many many necropsies on cats that had bitten people (we handled all rabies exposures for most of the State of Florida - dogs, skunks, bats, foxes, coons, etc. and even once had a rabid cow that had bit a veterinarian in the butt.....the cow kept ciricling in the pature and the vet picked up a rear hoof to look at it and OUCH, BTW the cow was positive for rabies.)

My 20 month old daughter was bit by my wife's cat twice this spring. About 1 month apart. Her arm swelled up where the bites were. They gave her oral antibiotics that worked very well. I dispatched of the cat after the second run in. She still has scars on her arm from the pucture wounds. Cats are about as useless as **** on a boar. JMO.
