Heard that, military sent me to Alabama in early '80s first time I ever had to deal with them nasty suckers. Glad we don't have them where we are, yet. I hear they are traveling north, so we'll probably both get 'em sometime (maybe when the world ends from climate change - now when was that? My calendar must be broke, I thought for sure it was past 2008I escaped fire ants when we moved to MO. Boy do I not miss having to quick step every time I stepped on some soft ground. Or standing in rain water and have a float of them critter get a hold. We just have armies of ticks, spiders and mosquitoes, but the stupid eye gnats (gnats that fly into your eyeball) take the cake.
