<snip> or ear buds would be my best bet...or, since I normally wear sound attenuating muffs ("Mickey Mouse" ears), I can probably find some type of Blue Tooth headset that would work.
Have you tried wedging ear buds into your muffs?
That's what I do.

No, I haven't... I never cared for ear buds for listening to music. But, your suggestion is another option and I thank you all for the responses!

We connect an external speaker to the CB, it is plenty loud. I'll try to get a pic of the setup on our ford 3000.
Didn't get a picture, but here is a video of our Ford 3000 around 1980. You can see the CB and loudspeaker mounted to the right of the operator. Its still there today (although a new radio, speaker and antenna were put on over the years).

Just wondering how many of you have CB radios mounted in your tractors

Uncanny that you bring this up. Our super high quality $50/pair FRS radios just bit the dust, so we were hashing out whether to go with a CB, handheld + base station, or stay with FRS.

Cell phone idea out here is moot as we don't get a cell phone signal - period. yeah, we're in a hole of some sort. Another good idea was the FRS with GPS tracking. Those are a bit pricey though.

So, I'll be watching this thread for more good ideas.

Moss Road,
Off topic but sure enjoyed seeing those old PM back page adverts.
Spent many hours on those pages as a teen.

Due to those adds, one really caught my attention, the 'free gov't land one' got me to where I live presently.

While not totally free, I located this one acre lakeside property just 1 hour north of Montreal and signed up when I was 18.
It was $25,/year rent with $600. option once you completed $2500, improvements.
I later got 2 more from folks that abandoned the projects.
I updated them, rented them out and later sold for very decent profits.
Back then it was boat access only but over time we built roads and now are fully municipal serviced.
