Hey man,I just thought neryous and jittery sounded good.As far as expecting 100% of the tractor, sure, doesn't mean you'll get it.AS far as taste, tractors don't taste all that great, thou,I do hope the guy has good luck with the machine and is happy he bought it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've gone through the problems of parts not arriving and stuff too... Like JOHN S said it is part of a NORMAL dealers head ache, I'm not a dealer I got a few in a container and sold some to help offset the shipping cost to a couple of guys who received a good deal and risked a little too. It worked out good for me in the end even though much of the parts I ordered never arrived, and a few that did came to Minnesota some place and I had to pay shipping to get them into ohio which was more than the parts were /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif but in the end a few missing things were not that big of a deal. I'm more than happy with my 184 TLB with tiller and finish mower (note pass on the import mowers after using mine it is nice but parts issues make the 100 cash that I saved vs US not a worthy deal.) anyhow I'm very pleased with the JINMAS though...

Once upon a time I was part owner of a Honda-Yamaha dealership. Unfortunately, there are times that things come out of a crate with problems. Handling mishaps (bad ones!) sometimes occur some place in the process and people are human and make mistakes. Further, even an outfit known for the quality of their cars and motorcyles didn't produce 100% perfect products and sometimes there where no needed parts in the US (which is to say "yes, it could take 90 days for parts from Japan").
This background info is no way intended to cast stones. But readers need to understand that problems such as have been discussed in this thread are not unique to Chinese tractors.

Thanks for the support. I do believe that CBP should make more of an effort to insure that you get what you paid for. I wonder how the others would feel if they ordered a Chevy and got a Ford....

And to add to my frustration, every time I had to call Steve with CBP , I could hardly understand a word he said do to his very strong Chinese accent. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Overall I am pleased with the tractor, and the support I got from Jinmaparts.com (in praticular Ryan). He was very helpfull with the needed parts and fair with his prices. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks again

John,

I am just saying the way CBP does buisness leaves alot to be desired. And I hope everyone who is considering buying a chinese tractor be for warned. The tractor itself seems great so far. Only got about 12 hours on it so far. Normal thing wrong like loose bolts and minor adjustments.

Glad you have someone who at least could provide the parts and support.

I also understand what others have said about all products having problems and having to wait for overseas parts. Surely that can happen with any import but the support network is much better for these other brands. I am not knocking the Chinese tractors but it seems that you may end up flying solo if something is wrong. This is part of the risk/reward of a lower priced tractor. I did consider a Chinese tractor and I would be willing to put up with minor problems. However, these were not minor items that YosemiteDan was complaining about, we're talking about receiving a product that won't function as delivered.

I don't find that acceptable no matter how much money he saved. We can argue about Chinese tractor fit, finish and technology til' the cows come home but ANYONE should be able to put the right parts in a box.

That just seems sloppy and careless at any price.

P.S. I ahve purchased laptops that were drop shipped directly for a manufacturer in Taiwan and I am familar with the problems that come with such an arrangement. I had a minor issue and they handled it well. There was language problem and I was nervous to say the least when the problem first appeared. I would be willing to do it again for a home computer but not for business where the machine was being used in some mission critical capacity.

On Edit: The agreement with the broker I dealt with guaranteed the unit to work on delivery or the unit would be replaced. Once you accepted the unit as working you had to deal directly with the manufacturer for any future repairs etc.

All your arguments are correct if he had bought from a dealer but he didn’t. He decided that price was more important than dealer support and a properly setup tractor. There is nothing wrong with that, I am glad he has the choice, but I am 99.9% sure he would not have any of these problems if he had bought from a dealer vs. a broker. When you buy from a dealer you are purchasing his support structure. When you buy from a broker you are paying $0 for support and for that you get 0 support, big shock. I know this sounds harsh but you are grouping dealers and brokers into the same group and they are as different as night and day. If it isn’t already obvious.

I don't care if I am buying from a dealer, a broker OR a manufacturer either one should include all the parts needed for their product to function. Period

If I buy a computer direct from a manufacturer/broker I should receive a complete computer, not one missing the hard drive. Likewise if I buy a tractor direct it should not be missing components to such an extent that it doesn't function.

Nobody is knocking the dealers, but I am saying that if a manufacturer can't reliably ship a product with all it's parts the MANUFACTURERS quality control sounds suspect.

The fact that he cut out the middle man(dealer) to save money doesn't excuse the manufacturer/broker from providing the goods they received payment for.

I just don't have the opinion that because a buyer goes direct it's the buyers fault that the manufacturer/broker didn't uphold their end of the deal.

As I said before I have bought other items in this manor but never with the anticipation that there will be problems. It seems that some are of the opinion that "well that's the way it is" or " these Chinese tractors are frequently damaged or missing parts so you have to go to a dealer". I don't see how that excuses lousy performance by the manufacturer who didn't include all the parts??????
