Cessna Pump - Repair or Replace

Off of a harrow bed, pn#24500-510C Has broken 7/8 straight shaft, some wear on bronze plates, gears & center housing OK. Buy the time I mess with new bushings, seals/O rings, & the shaft or just get new. Who & Where?

Since Eaton Vickers bought Cessna years ago I am not sure if parts are still available for that model. Usually gear pumps are less expensive to replace vs repair especially if the side plates are scored. Motion Industries in the largest Eaton Vickers distributor in the US. Problem is finding a sales person that knows what you are talking about. Is there a Spencer Fluid Power office in your area? they used to be a Eaton distributor and may have some information for you.

I looked at my Eaton 900 CD and they do not show any model 24500 on the parts break down.

New pump......last week, tried to find the same parts with no luck.......

even if you find them it'll cost what a new replacement pump will be..........

Maybe try Surplus Center .... A site sponsor. They have about 70 different Cessna pumps. None that seem to match the number you have posted but many that may work and certainly plenty with a 7/8" shaft size.

The gear diameter is 2-1/8 x 1-5/16 long. What GPM does that work out to?Thanks to all, As you can see I'm a newbe.

Does it have another number such as "24509 LBT"

if so then it's 2.40 CID............17.8 gpm's @ 1800 rpm @ 2000 psi

(.988 gpm per 100 rpm)

Reading from Cessna info


24503= 2.20 CID

24509= 2.40 CID

24504= 2.67 CID

24505= 3.12 CID

24506= 3.56 CID

Don't forget rpms when sizing/comparing other pumps
