Thanks for all of the different designs. If it ever stops raining, I will build mine using various components of designs shown in this thread. I will of course post a pic or two once it has been tested out.

I've seen the chain link fence drags work pretty well. If you can get your hands on an old railroad tie and lay it across the middle of the section of fence, they tend to add enough weight and work pretty well. You still have to have a 2x4 at the front end to attach chains to to be able to pull it. Also you have to wire the railroad tie to the fence to make sure it stays in the right place.

I don't have a picture but I have taken chain link and made a frame of steel pipes on all 4 sides. Then if needed I throw some weight (usually chains criss crossed across the chain link panel) and drag the pasture. It spreads manure great. The key for me was to add weight and rigidity or it tended to flop all around and not have enough "oomph".

NOTE: I bought a proper set of spike harrows at an auction sale for $60 last year (4 sections with the front drag pipe and hook up chains). I turn it upside down and drag manure too. It works the best for me.

I made a chain link drag. Get an old piece of fence and wrap the front end of it around an old T post or pipe....and wire the ^%$# out of it around it with heavy wire. Get an old heavy hardwood pallet of appropriate size and turn it upside down on top of the fence. Wire this on all the way around, also with heavy wire. This keeps the fence from balling up during use. I then installed an old piece of rusty chain on the front wraped around the t-post/pipe a foot or so from each end, and then made a little loop in the center of the chain to drop over my trailer hitch ball. Drop some BIG rocks into the overturned pallet, and have at it. The weighted pallet keeps the fence fairly flat and helps level what ever you run over with time.... Great thing for dragging trails......
