Change the oil or not??????

No need to. My 3 diesel tractors all have manual fuel shutoffs; no solenoids here.

Would you recommend I turn off the fuel on my 2006 Tc45a after using it? It is stored underneath my house in a basement garage.

Should this be normal practice (shutting off the fuel) even on newer tractors?

i don't have one that new.. so can't specifically comment.

up untill 2000 .. at least on the larger units, there was still a shutoff on the tank in addition to an electric fuel pump and a key-off solenoid.

rickB is the man to answer that one.

off with the starter solenoids.... they might fail one day.... should go with the more reliable hand crank...

LOL!!! Ya can't win with some of these guys can you?!

And I see that you have now ran completely out of class...

I was not aware that I needed to make a point, merely offering up a suggestion to help the OP.... BTW...that wasn't you!.
Instead of going on the offensive at somebody offering a suggestion that you may not like, why not just try keeping your mouth shut since it wasn't about your tractor to begin with???.. Seldom does one solution fit every situation... and this is an example of that. While a simple petcock may be all you have ever needed, there could be one reader that is looking for an alternative to trying to remember the petcock... Not sure about others, but thats what I use this forum for, is to gain knowledge and share when able...
I apologize to the OP for this going as far as it did..... I consider this matter closed.

I actually think it's a pretty cool idea.

It's a diesel right? It's not necessary. Of course the "experts" may disagree with me. :confused2:

What does manual say?
