(B2620, had BX22) Simplicity Legacy w/48" mmm
I was very close to buying a BX22, but after walking my land, and reviewing the posts here, I decided to look for something larger even though it meant a larger cash outlay. Today I signed the deal on a B2710 that only has 108 hours on it, and it should be delivered during the coming week. I am very tempted to have the dealer mount a Woods 7500 bh with subframe on it while I'm at it. I don't suppose that you all would mind helping talk me into that?
I'm starting over again on my own after losing my wife a few years ago, and can't tell all of you how helpful this site has been in getting me excited about my land again, and a lifestyle that I know I enjoy! Thanks evryone!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Good Luck!

I could think of many reasons NOT to buy my BX2200, but I got it anyway as it is almost theraputic for me. Used it yesterday and today and had a blast with it.

It works better than my expectations. Life's too short, go for what you want now if it buys you some quality of life.

The past several years, my wife's had several brain surgeries and is doing fine now (about 90 as good as before, which is GREAT). We cherish each day!

My best wishes to you.

Ron.

Go for the BH. Digging in the earth is very theraputic. I truly look forward to the days that I can get out and use my little orange tool I mean toy. Of course there are days that are good for fishing here on Sebago Lake as well. Being retired has some real benefits!

This bunch will have no trouble cooking up 100 reasons to spend your money, so grab a pencil and get ready to write them down! I'll toss in my 2 cents... based on what I see, that Woods backhoe will be the cat's meow for doing some land clearing, planting, and general all-around excavating. I've been coveting one of them myself for several months now!

Every backhoe owner who posts on TBN carries on about how useful it is. If it's within your budget, you will no doubt find dozens of uses. Enjoy your new 2710!

Chuck,

I would get the BH as there is nothing like to discover the benefits of having this attachment as well is very theraputic (SP) to boot. You only go around one time so get the BH now and have some fun working!! You never know what the future may hold and having the right attachments for the job at hand is priceless.

From your profile you list many areas that a backhoe would come in handy. Digging stumps, fixing up trails, maybe some shallow wildlife ponds for ducks and geese. Great for picking up things that you really don't want to throw your back out doing. I wiegh this advantage of the backhoe with the need to remove it to use other implements. If you can remove it easily enough then why not?

The more I putter on my land while waiting for my tractor, the more I think I'll get one! One of the reasons that I looked at the BX22 was the ease of removing the backhoe, and that is a concern. I looked at a JD4210 for the same reason, but the Kubota 2710 was a really good deal (14k w/ almost new 5' rotary cutter, 401fel, and 108 hrs on tractor). Like the heavy mower deck on my big Simplicity, I expect that either a Woods 7500, or the big Kubota hoe would come off easier with practice. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
