3550 Fard Backhoe and a 1948 Farmall Cub,
We have 8 dogs and take care of them but We had a bad week a few months ago where we ran up a pretty large bill. We make monthly payments but skipped a month but made up for the next with a triple payment. I explained to my vet that my wife had lost her job and I had large amount of money tied up on a job before this all happened that I was having trouble getting back. My vet has been fair and understanding in all of this. Im paying the bill in full next week as I will be getting my last check from the county for the Material I bought for them.

Heres where the problem is one of the ladies in the vet office has a big mouth. The other day person that lives near this lady told me He had a neighbor that told him I was having difficulty paying my Vet bill and would like to rent my Skid steer loader in return for paying off my Vet bill. I felt my head get hot and I told him my policy on my equipment. that I dont rent it or loan it. Well he let it slip who told him. Im in a pinch on what to do I like this Vet as hes been the family vet for many years but this really got to me. Also something was said about where we buy our animal medicens from to.

I'd talk to the vet & see what he/she says. IMHO they have no more of a right to give out information than any other creditor.

My advise would be to call the vet or the owner of the clinic and advise him what you were told by the person who wanted to use your equipment. Let him/her know that this has brought embarrassment to you and you would the employee spoken to about the consequences of talking about the business of clients.

If in fact this employee was the culprit, you should be offered an apology.

Agreed. An employee with loose lips does a business no good. If you swap vets without explanation, you lose a good vet, they lose a loyal customer, and the loudmouth goes on her merry way.

A friend of mine has oft said; "There's nothing wrong with a small town bank, so long as it isn't in your own small town." Sad, but too true.

I'm sure your vet would like to know if they have an employee who is leaking information about their customers since that same employee is probably leaking information about the Vet's business too and you might mention that possibility to the Vet. I don't know that I would burn a bidge over it but I would go by the reaction you get from the Vet...remember it was not the Vet who let you down ...and without your input they will never know about their problem and disloyal employee...Good Luck

I agree, contact the vet/owner first. They need to know anytime there is a problem like that! ~~ grnspot110

I beilve I will talk to him. I m about to move some of my machinery to the office this weekend after I pay my final installment. I was gobsmacked when this guy came and talked to me about my bill and renting my loader. I cant believe the nerve of these folks. I realized this guy is one of the low ball repairmen and I think my be wanting to do some work for the busybody. id hate to lose my vet. If something cant be done with the employee I will change vets.

Whew! From your previous post, I had assumed you found out it was the vet who spilled the beans. That would have been an unworkable situation. At least you now have some ability to discuss the issue and get it fixed.

BTW: Your openess here is a bit unusual. It shows that you either consider us all family/friends or we are such strangers it doesn't matter. Until you say different, I'll take it we are family/friends.

Talk to your vet. He trusted you enough to let you make payments. I have been in the same situation before with a verry large vet bill for heart worms. If the vet wouldn't have let me pay it off in several payments I don't know what I would have done. I would explain the situation to the vet about the bigmouth employee. I would also insist that the employee be severly reprimanded or terminated. I would always have an uncomfortable feeling when dealing with that employee. BTW if this happened to me and the guy that told me this wasn't a friend trying to help he may have ended up with a sore nose for sticking it my buisness

Myself, if I liked using this vet, I'd let it slide and tell them it was a miss understanding like you did with "told him my policy on my equipment. that I dont rent it or loan it."

I'm beginning to find out the less people that know I have a tractor the better.
