as posted, this thread starts off with the settings... AT&T ZTE Mobley USB Tethering ASUS Router and probably others!
hook ethernet cable between asus using one of the lan ports , and other into lan on computer/laptop.
use a usb cable from the Mobley to the usb on the asus
use a browser to log into the asus with it's address,,, maybe 192.68.29.1 (which was the asus label)
follow these screenshots for the USB tethering settings:

then i had to pull my ethernet cable, and reboot both the mobley and asus,
it takes quite a few minutes for them to reboot and find each other,
then try logging in with the browser over wifi.... and you should see
everything connected, and the mobley listed as it's 3g dongle
My Asus AC1900 RT-N66U DARK KNIGHT screens look quite different than that

I wonder if anyone at ATT marketing had a clue what was going to happen when they made this offer? And did any manufacture of these mobile devices have a clue how this was going to "go viral"? Apparently not on either count.

That's not correct. Weather very definitely does affect all radio transmissions, whether point to point on the earth or satellite to earth. There are entire textbooks written about the subject.

There are a lot of variables, including frequency and the weather itself, but the effects vary from very minor to very dramatic.

I guess I should have clarified by not as drastically. A well put together system should have very minor difference due to weather. A hard rain will completely take out satellite internet.

And for anyone looking another solution the Gl Ar150 router

Amazon.com: GLI Mini Travel Router GL-AR15 with 2dbi external antenna, WiFi Converter, OpenWrt Pre-installed, Repeater Bridge, 15Mbps High Performance, OpenVPN, Tor Compatible, Programmable IoT Gateway: Computers & Accessories

at about 1/3 the cost.
For me I wasn't interested in the wifi feature of the modem compared to the Ethernet connection. It was very easy to set up and works well.

Do you have to use the USB 3.0 or will the USB 2.0 work on the router?

Should be downward compatible

May have got a promotion!!
It is such a competitive environment now. T-Mobile keeps taking share from the big players. Take a look at their 1Q results.
Data is being commoditized at an ever increasing rate and it's a trade off for the big players on how quickly they adapt.

A quick blip of availability at the BestBuy in Flint, MI. I had them in my cart, but a couple hours later when I called my local store (desperate for a store-to-store transfer) they said they did NOT have them in stock.

Perhaps they were there, and someone checked out while I was still F-ing around.

This is interesting: and troubling.

looks like a lawsuit was filed in 2016 and then a second pdf is dated January 25 2017 that includes ATT and ZTE sprint and 20 others selling the ZTE Mobley and other versions over some of the tech....

wonder whether this has anything to do with availability?

looks like Cellular Communications Equipment is the plaintiff

Found another site that lists the defendants and some have a (terminated) notation next to them ATT and ZTE are both marked

this has been worked out at least for ATT/ZTE Mobleys...?

also noticed the newest docket update was 5/10/2017

Looks like Apple is next.

ZTE also was fined almost $900000000 for selling phones to Iran.
