I wouldn't take a coop like that if someone offered to come and build it at my place for free. I'd have to spend the next 2 years fixing up my house, barn, and yard so that folks wouldn't make fun of me for having a coop that was nicer than anything else on my property.

I am with you there. Mine is an old converted silage body and some pvc and wire for a run. All of them here make me feel slighted, but i only have to answer to the chickens and i do not let them online so they don't know no better and are still friendly and decent layers. They like me and SO for the weeds and feed.

First let me say that it was not my intention of running water to the coop, nosirrebob. However the 1st hole that we dug for the posts using the gas auger cut the irrigation line to the garden.

So since it was necessary to drag out and hook-up the backhoe I opted for a T and ran the line a bit further. I hope the future inhabitants will appreciate the indoor plumbing. :D

I got cable TV and running water in my pole barn the same way! The chickens lost out, I didn't hit any buried utilities when I built their coop.

Electric for the bug zapper to cook the bugs for the guys and a heat, cool, massage-a-lounger for you to sit and watch them go for it! Just do not put the cooking channel on the tv!

A happy accident then. It will make watering them easier, you can just get one of the automatic waterers that has a hose hookup.

I had planned on running electric to the coop and heard you guys mention the bug zapper. Turns out there's one hanging under our deck that hasn't been powered up in a long time. Looks like it's going to be crispy critters for the ladies.....

Tororider I would assume that TSC carries something like that? Or will I need to go on-line to a hatchery?

Never heard the term "happy accident" before but now that I think about it yes. :D

Tororider that white plastic looks to me like a big float valve and I'm thinking if a hen sits on it there might be enough weight to keep the water flowing making a big mess in the coop.

Found these today at a hatchery, does anyone here have any experience with this type of water valve?
