why not just a cheap beater of a car/truck ( for just on the property ) ... put chains / belts on the tires for more traction ... full coverage , heated cab , trunk for hauling , wipers etc ....

How about a used golf cart? They go pretty cheap, and are fairly reliable.
A used golfcart is what i got my Wife, plug it in about once a week and check the battery water every few months. She likes it , turn the key and go

I have an 88 Suzuki Samurai for that. A friend just sold his 88 Sami for $2300. Everything worked, even passed
SMOG test and is street-legal.

Of course, if $10-20K is just burning a hole in the pocket for a new SxS utility, then maybe a new Ranger or Rhino
or Pioneer is the way to go.

Kymco actually makes units for Arctic cat and Kawasaki the current 300 two wheel drive Kawi is made by Kymco

If cost is an issue, you don't need to go all the way up to a 300. Even the Arctic Cat 150 that we have is plenty powerful enough for your wife, and if you put some nice mud tires on the back, such as mud lights, you're good to go.

Good luck!

CHinese = crap material, crap service, crap warranty, They are certain trouble, one way or another. no aftermarket value, especially Gio brand. Money spent on them will be lost. They are frustration generators. NO TOUCHEE! Better a used Kawasaki. Not a Honda, not a Polaris. Jix

I agree with everything you said except not buying a Honda. Honda is the poster child for reliable ATVs.

Have had good service with 92 Polaris. Auto w/ 4x4 $900
You could just get a no deck gear lawn mower $1-$200

Thanks Check. I have also been looking at the name brands, but these machines have become so big that it's ridiculous. New ATV's are mostly 700 and larger now. Kymco still makes smaller ones and I think you can get 4X4, but most of the name brands new machines are 700+ to get the 4X4 option.

My thoughts are that if I wanted something that big, why wouldn't I just buy a side by side. I'd rather have a 300-400 size or even frankly a 250 with 4X4 would be more than enough machine. These days it seems it's all overkill.
Overkill for you maybe. But I have a 750 V-twin, power is good, but I wouldn't want any less power. More would be fine.
I don't even look at 4x4 ATV's less than 700cc.

As far as the OP's question, if only using for transportation 300' a couple times a day= golf cart.

The 350 cc Polaris I have goes faster than I want to go on one. I see some people going down the road sometimes around 50-60 mph. Crazy! Some of the side by sides are beasts. Saw one that even had AC
