Seems like allmost all of the negative stories about the jinma{chinese} tractors come from the friend of an uncles sisters brother who lives next to ..........

Just a thought, but some may be to embarrassed to admit they bought a chinese mfd tractor.

I know personally I wouldn't buy one, and I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy one. However, there are plenty of people who have gotten along just fine with them (apparently) b/c people continue to buy them in the states.

I have to wonder at what % each brand has it's issues? For most owners of jinma's {that I've read about and talked with} I have seen/heard very few problems. Comparing total sales of each individual brand of tractor is Jinma any worse then another? My neighbor up the road bought a brand new NH {real purty machine}50ponys. Within a year it had to go back to the shop, hydraulics quit. Got it fixed and returned, the dealer told him it must have been a friday or monday machine, someone forgot to tighten bolts inside. Another neighbor owns another name brand tractor 2yrs old, one of his 3pt sway arms broke, dealer told him it was made with a weak weld and poor metal. I'm not bashing any tractor just stating some facts that I've come accross, and wondering if %age wise if a jinma is any worse off? With all the material I read up on and now being an owner I'd say NOT!

As far as buying used well that's a whole different ball game. 1st a person would have to have good to excellent mechanical skills then it'd be in their interest to have past maintanance routines. Then if all that is good how much stress has the tractor been under for _____yrs. Metal is just like anything else it does and will get weaker with age. Again I'm not bashing used machines either, I've owned plenty. Just remember when something used is being sold,.,.,.,.,.,.there is a reason, some good, a lot bad.

WHY, why would someone be embarrassed about a bad buy? If anything bad news travels way faster then good. Bad reports hit the news or are talked about at the local dinner way before good. I don't buy into this but maybe you're correct?????

Well now there is a great reason not to buy one. A guy that would never own one or even think/recommend one, is an expert on them  Maybe I just got the only tough one in the states{doubt it} or maybe they aren't as bad as all the fairly tails try to make them? I quess I'll be happy with my purchase and the extra money I had for attachments etc. Plus My neighbors that bought their name brands enjoy the fact I have the extra equipment when they need it.

6 months ???????????? that's not a dealer that's a lawn sale.

It dont take me long to cut my losses and move on. When I seen the battery mounted in front of the radiator in the 284 (blocking air flow and running hot) and a Lube groove not cut on a internal PTO bushing.(PTO jumping out of gear) I knew engineering, QC and design had not got piped in over there yet. I wouldn't be afraid to buy a chinese tractor, after messing with antiques.. I'd expect to pay economical money though. I sat on my hands too back when the cheap ones were out.. could have got one of those economy ( 184 ? ) jinma 18hp / 2wd for 2000$ at a tool show ( homier show ). basic for sure.. but I can turn a wrench.. :) missed my chance on that price....

Seems like you'd have checked that out before you became a dealer? I still say 6mths isn't long enough to be a dealer. I understand your opinion, but that doesn't prove the machine isn't any good. Like I've said had mine for 4+yrs now and use it hard, it has not over heated, blown up, ran backwards, slapped my ole lady, taken toys from the kids, or kicked the dog.

How many tractors did you have and how many did you sell? Out of those how many complaints/problems did you get? If any issues how did you go about taking care of them?

I bought mine brand new in 06, with BH, FEL and taxes, it came to under $13,000. Allthough I don't care for the chinese BH I still feel I got a great deal. I used the BH until I found something better and sold the BH for just over $2,000, after I had moved MUCH dirt.
