You are correct. I was a moderator for several years and if you piss people off they will leave the forum. Balance is the key. Sure get rid of the extreme posts but allow people to speak without the big brother forum police judging every post for rules violations. I think TBN has the right balance.

Sounds to me like there is a real need for an " Old Codgers " Forum where only serious farm and tractor conversations are allowed, no jokes, no fun, no sense of humor or quips...Just the facts and no smiley faces...Yeah, that's the ticket.

That's what I was thinking, a forum for those lacking the ability to skip over responses that don't apply, topics they aren't interested in, or heaven forbid idle chit chat among members.

I make an effort to stay on topic and respond to threads where I actually have useful experience, unless opinions on a topic are asked for. I can also move quickly past items that don't interest me. I think some here are far too sensitive. I certainly don't feel the need to police anything more than the more offensive of responses.

Even this topic has gone chitty-chatty, and it never ends.

I can see this thread going to a thousand post about almost nothing.

I can bet some of these folks never shut up.

As I get older, I detest BS, but it seems like you can't get away from it.

I am almost sorry I even brought this up. Seems like some people just want to argue about it.

Can I delete this whole thread, it is going nowhere fast.
