Christmas Gifts - 2019

I like my bread maker.

And name a TV that isn't a flat screen. Tube TVs aren't made anymore. The last CRT manufacturer ceased around 2015. CRTs are also energy hogs.

You've never spent a nickel on recreation, or recreational pot? Need some specifics there.

A lot of people watch video on their devices, but marketing tells them they need something that covers the whole wall. And in some ridiculously high definition.

If you ever need another bread maker, our thrift stores usually have dozens of them from Christmases past. Many new in the box. Right next to the George Forman Grills. lol.

They are commercial tools that can (probably) all be sold at a Profit. Can't say that for your breadmaker, new phone or flat screen TV! I never spent a nickle on any recreational stuff either.

I doubt that. Especially in regards to a 4x2 Electric Gator.....

I only paid $1700 CDN for it! Maybe four years ago. It would be the LAST thing I got rid of too as it's the most used (and loved) thing I have, barring winter time.

But now we need to define "recreational". With a Kawasaki Diesel Mule parked in the shed, wouldn't this second SxS be considered "recreational"? Certainly wasn't necessary. :)

I guess you could have a long debate about what anyone really needs. Between the two of us, often we both need a UTV at the same time, but to do work and chores (mostly). Come the snow and the Gator is useless. Come just a bit more snow and the Kawi is useless too.

And the Mule was a Demo bought from a power sports customer at a good price, long before that fad hit, so I certainly did OK on that too.

I wanted to start a thread about Christmas FAD gifts of years gone by. I remember one year where it was all about electric table top air fresheners and the Corning Un-Candle. All stuff lying in landfills everywhere today.

I was simply responding to your statement about not buying anything recreational. We both know that was a stretch. :)

I mean I guess you could say my Wood Chipper is recreational. I don't need it but it's something I "wanted" to do and work with. But it involves work and positive results so I figure that kind of lets me off the strictly recreational label. One of my biggest regrets is all the time wasted just hanging out with people, getting nothing done, learning nothing either.

I got my George Foreman Grill (it was a Christmas gift).
My baby George rotisserie (got it the same Christmas. Gonna do a chicken on it tomorrow).
A panini maker (free gift from a casino).
Heck, I even have a 4 slice toaster.

Popcorn makers were another in thing for X-MAs gifts at one point I recall. I guess you need all that cooking equipment to feed all your cabbage patch kids and beenie babies lol
