After researching for over 2 years I decided I was ready for my upgrade from my BX22 (which by the way was a awesome tractor) to a larger B platform. I felt the new B2920 was a perfect fit for my needs present and future offering more HP for ground engagements as well as a larger platform (but not too large) for my smaller property for around the house work and woods at my other 24 acreage.

I originally vacillated on keeping the BX for my smaller property and getting a used larger tractor for my other 24 but I never was happy with the used inventory I looked at not to mentioned the idea of not using the 2nd tractor as much as I would like since getting to my larger property at this time is infrequent, so I began looking at new.

One major issue I had was that when I had the BX I personally hated the MMM. Although it cut like a dream, the task of taking the MMM off for any woods work or the time it took to take implements or attachments back off to cut the grass then back on again I decided that if / when I took the plunge for a new tractor platform I would use the MMM money and put it towards a dedicated ZTM (i.e. a low end Toro or maybe a Scag).

So, when I sold the BX back in February I initially thought I would hold out for better financing terms from Kubota (i.e. 0% for 60 month) however I called Brady Barlow of Barlow Farm Equipment in the meantime. He (like my former Kubota dealer Robert Wolf of Woodbury Tractor) was a real gentleman to deal with. I am not sure why it is so rare to find a dealers as professional and courteous as Brady is but it was a real pleasure working with him. What also worked in my favor was the fact that I had a business trip to TN last month which was only 2 hours from Brady's dealership in KY so I took the ride up and when I walked on the lot I saw a 2009 B2920 TLB loaded to the gills (even came with a LA504 quick attach loader) - it was love at first sight and if that wasnt enough I was able to look at a number of slightly used ZD21 and Brady put together a nice package for both the B and ZD.

Both were delivered this past weekend.

I wanted to share these pics since you guys were a huge part of my decision making process. Thanks for all that answered to my PM's as well as the many exchanges on these threads I hope I wasnt too much of a PIA!

One pic is from Bradys lot the others from my home.

Happy and Safe Tractoring to all.

The best part about Brady is he's just as easy to deal with after the sale. Even if you aren't close by.

Wow, nice one - two punch there !:)

Kubota has sure hit the mark with their TLB style tractor / backhoe combination.

Congratulations on your new tools !!

What a sweet combo. I wasn't aware you could get a QA loader setup on the B2x20 series!

Wow. Congratulations times 2. I agree with your decision to have a dedicated mower. If I ever trade up, I'd go a similar route. I'm glad I kept my wheel horse - use it to mow with quite often instead of switching out the FEL for the MMM on the BX. Woodbury is a beautiful area. Use to do some business with Woodbury Telephone a few years back. Now it's just a nostalgic memory.

Isn't there something in the bible about "coveting thy neighbor's tractors". Were not neighbors so I guess I can be jealous all I want. Nice set up.

Nice setup. Congrats on the new machines.

Brady is a great guy to deal with.

Looks like you've got some nice spring weather to break in those new machines.

After an unusually dry winter, we're finally in a regular spring snowstorm pattern, so all the warm weather projects I was just getting started on have stalled - either too much snow or too much mud during the warm days following, so I've been going through some major tractor work withdrawl. You can only plow so much snow before the warm ground melts it away. :D

Thanks,

I am very very happy I went to the 2X20 series - for my needs is perfect. Although I know I will miss my BX (put 750 hours on it in 6 years) I just "felt right" when I sat and drove right platform of the 2920. I did look at the 3200 and would just love to own one but for my needs I could not justify it at this time. There is something to be said about not going too too big - I remember once last winter I had to dig out a trench along side my house to get utilities from my main house to a new addition above the garage. Talk about tight spots! (see pic). So I have realized it is nice to have a balance between a small and larger frame - I think the 2X20 provides that and more.

I also very pleased with the decision to go to the ZTM instead of a MMM. I realize it is another engine in which I would have to care for but for me its a small sacrifice not having to deal with taking implements on / off. Although the ZD is overkill for my 1.5 acres of grass (2+ acres at my other property) I felt this would be one of my last mower purchases - I am sold on the Kubota line and quality. I did look at the JD, Toro and Scag however the ZD came with a fabricated deck and the diesel engine so I looked at this purchase as a investment for the long run.

When I finially got the ZD home I took it out to get familiar with the controls (I never drove one before) - after 15 minutes I was very comfortable (and I guess happy as the Girl Friend said I was grinning from ear to ear) - I have to admit its a blast - sadly I let her drive it as well - she woun't get off - the sinking remark which followed after her test drive was "I cant wait to cut the grass with it"! - Lovely.

Well, you can either dump her so you can keep the 2 machines all to yourself, or give her a ring and marry her, and you'll have his-n-hers machines. :D

Scary - sounds like you just got off the phone with her - in fact there was a point in time last weekend when the excitment was still fresh (after just taking deleivery) when she figured out that some of tractor funding could have been put to other uses!

Do'ya think she accept the ZD instead of a ring? :)

She might accept the ZD over a ring then you can use that ring money for more toys:D I agree w/ your last post about using the ZTR actually makes cutting the lawn fun. I feel this way w/ my bottom of the line ZTR (all I could afford at the time) so I can only imaging how much fun it would be on that Kubota! I am planning on upgrading to a nice commercial unit in a couple years so I will be giving these a good look, it would be nice having matching equipment!
