Back in the old days we would return to school after Christmas and relate to all about what Santa had brought us. Some years with embellishment due to hard times. How does a 4th grader make a big deal out of a pair of jeans? Other years proudly describing that new Lionel engine, boxcar, or gondola that already had miles and miles of roundy round use. Remember just laying there on my side watching it just "go" taking me places I could only dream of.

Anyway, God was good to this ol boy this year. Surely NOT to brag......I HATE THAT.........but; I do need to relate about 3 really great items.

Northern Tool chain saw sharpener/grinder. At first examination out of the box, totally complicated to put together as the instructions are written by a Yugoslavian from the Chinese original. Good drawings though and actually not that bad to just jump in and assemble. In past years I get my 4 chains sharpened at least once per year or perhaps twice.

Around here the going rate is $5 per chain. I always thought that was fair and sure better than a new chain. The first time I used the new grinder was yesterday after assembly. Adjustment was simple with common sense to align the depth and angle. I had the whole chain done in less than 10 minutes. "Is it that simple?" YES it is. The grinder worked flawlessly and stayed in adjustment just fine.

Took it out to the woodpile for a test cut to try it out. IT IS REALLY LIKE CUTTING BUTTER. No downward pressure to "force" the machine, just guide it and let the weight of the Stihl do the work. Far better than the sharpening jobs of the past. AM TOTALLY PLEASED...................

Moultrie I65 Game camera..........Yes, I know these have recieved some negative reviews; but I am not about to tell Santa that. Am just thankful I have this. For me, not knowing better, am totally pleased with the unit. I have it now up on my Deer Caine lick for the second night and am waiting for the sun to come up and warm up a bit to check it out. Got a SD card 8 Gig, with it and something like 4k pictures available. Anyway Santa and crew were great to me with this for a lot of reasons.

Thanks for the advice on here about the "barn defense weapon for my wife". She is totally in love with her NEA 20. ga pump and cloth case. We figured yesterday where she could "hide" it down at the barn and still be able to quickly get to it. NOW the fun starts with her becoming totally familiar with it by using up the 100 rounds of throw away shells..............

Anyway, God is so good to this ol boy for blessing me as he does..............Thank YOU God...............Dennis

The grinder - I can totally understand. I paid 30 bucks for mine at Harbor Freight and never touched a file again. It is like having new chain everytime.
