CK25 Buyer needs assurance to pull the trigger

My JD hydro has a hydraulic clutch, but is electrically activated - a kinda hybrid I guess. For the finish mower, full rpms is best prior to engaging PTO because at low rpms the startup torque puts too much of a load on an idling engine. Even so it activates slow, feathering itself a bit, with no apparent hard impact. I'm not sure how others work. But have read a number blogs where the solenoids go bad in short order. I've had my JD for 12 years, about 700 hours and no problems yet. But, then again that's what I paid for by buying JD.

I was looking at the same tractors you are and came to the same conclusion you have. I know of only one FEL that had a problem, so it's not like an epidemic, I wouldn't worry about it. The 25 HP should be all the power you'll ever need, I'm very happy with my rig and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
