Being in the virtual countdown to finalizing my long pondered tractor search,I believe I am going to go for a CK30 gear.
Could anyone offer their opinion on how close a CK25 comes to this model regarding rotary cutting,FEL etc. There is a fair difference in price.($2000 Cdn/apx $1300-1400 US)Dealer recommends CK30 unless the price difference is a major factor.

With 5 extra HP you can basically go a foot wider on most implements. If that's important to you, go with the CK30. Otherwise there really is no difference.

Two months ago, I decided to buy a Kioti but the same question arose between the 25 and 30. As KiotiJohn advised, you can use a 6ft cutter instead of a 5ft. Also, other implements can be larger. I wanted an HST and you lose about one PTO hp compared to a gear. Considering the extra cost over the entire amount and that I would have the tractor for a long time, I bought a CK30HST with FEL. It runs a 6ft brush hog fine and lets you work a little faster with the FEL. I have 15 hours on it now and I'm happy with the 30 and glad I paid the extra $$.

I agree with the above comparisons. If you took off the emblems of the CK25 and CK30 you wouldn't/couldn't tell the difference. the difference is in the HP or different engine and that is all. I had one dealer tell me there was a smaller hyd pump on the CK25 vs the CK 30 which is not true.............I quickly scatched them off the list!!!!!!!!!

With the CK25, you probably won't notice the power difference unless you're cutting thick grass, or maybe dragging a really big implement. For 5' implements, it probably won't matter much. Besides that, if you stick with the shuttle shift, I'd bet the CK25 probably puts close to as much power to the ground as the CK30HST. So your only drawback will be in PTO hp, and if you'll have enough to run a brush hog through thick grass.

It's still a tough call though - it's not that much more, but you'll have to decide for yourself what your maximum price is. In the end, remember there's always a more powerful tractor out there, the issue is to get as much tractor as you really need, and then to get the best within your budget.

Hello Eldon, just curious why you picked the shuttle over the Hst, Hp difference at the pto is only 1 hp and the hst sure is nice... Also nice to have if you have others using your tractror, wife, son etc....Regardless if you do chose the Ck30 im sure youll love it.. great tractor...
