CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

Keep in mind that a lot of front axle issues you see on the Internet, regardless of the brand, comes from people not caring at all about how hard a loader is on the tractor, specially the front axle.

They treat their tractors like skidsteers, use oversized attachments, use attachments that shouldn't even go on a tractor, often without any sort of counter weight, and get all surprised they grenaded the front axle and often blame the brand in the process.

I'm honestly surprised on how much of this stuff gets covered under warranty. Way too much gets covered under warranty for sure.

I swear these people go through more front axle parts in less than 500 hours, than a farmer goes through parts on a 10,000 hour tractor.

Unfortunately I just found your post this morning and they left to bring back the tractor very early this morning. We are going to have to drive it slowly and keep the bucket down as much as we can. It will eventually get worse to the point it can't be ignored and then hopefully our close dealer will be able to help us. They are a tractor repair shop that has been in business for over 10 years just fixing tractors. They picked up TYM a couple years ago. I have a lot more confidence in their mechanics than the ones we purchased from. I am going to call them Monday and explain the situation, send them the link and get their thoughts.
If there's any reason to suspect the wheel might come off, it needs to be repaired before anyone gets hurt. Just loading and unloading it on a trailer is dangerous enough, but what would happen if the wheel came off while loading it on/off a trailer?

Agree. This is one reason I really hate to look at used heavy equipment

Have the complaint and ALL of what the dealer did to it put in writing. Also, the high hours because of the dyno BS....all on paper. If this noise is "normal", I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem taking it back either. I wonder if the other new ones on the lot that also make noise have extra mystery hours on them too?

Since you decided to take it back, maybe make videos of the noise and demonstrate it makes the noise with tractor off, front end supported off the ground and turning the wheels by hand. Post it here and send copies to TYM and the closer dealer.

Also torque all the bolts you can get to as likely this dealer did not prep the tractor correctly. Especially the lug bolts on the wheels. I would also double check fluid levels and grease all the grease points. Make sure air filter is installed properly too.

Make videos and put on Youtube, lots of people in your shoes that wish they had known ...

Several 494 and 574 with this same issue in FB group. Eventually the front wheel will fall off. I think it's defective batch of part in front axle. Main reason I got 4820 instead of the 494 I originally wanted ...

I saw "one"?

Scrolled down for quite a ways down. One. Occurrence that I saw. Of course, no back story, no information about what they had previously done with the tractor, no display of any knowledge of lifting, or lifting correctly...

Not taking sides here, but "one"?

I am pretty sure this is a dealer issue. I've got the 574 and have no clanging. Wheels are fine. Manufacture is in South Korea, assembly is in a few places in the US. Final assembly is at the dealership. They are supposed to make sure it is all good.

Better question for Asteral. At the very least they should be checking them over before they sell them.
