CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

Torvy, I think the guy is legit...I have been watching his posts and he has been replying to mine on the FB...here is the latest with good information. I requested a PN for the right clip pin so I can have my dealer replace them:

"We're a big farm and ranch operation with dozens of tractors and several mechanics. I'll have to ask the guys if they have a part number I can get to give to you. It's just the same size C clip as #15 in the diagram, just without the dog ears on it. I know TYM has them, and a part number for them as internally they know this is a problem and have been working on a fix, they just won't admit it externally for fear of a mass recall or lawsuits. A buddy of mine with a 574 had his axel come off just a while ago and when they sent him new parts, he said they had a clip without the dog ears on it right from tym."

so it sounds like if i push hard enough I should be able to get the clip I need to fix this part of it before it becomes a problem or causes injury. Still does not solve the banging/clanging from the front end...but with regard to injury the wheel falling off concerns me more.

I'm not buying it. I have family with big farming operations and none of them have multiple of the same tractor. They buy different sizes and models for different tasks. Heck, the most successful of them don't even buy the same brand.

Again, if someone got hurt in a situation like this, it would be on the news, not just on FB. Sounds just like the guys who build up stories for scams. Maybe I'm just cynical, but I don't trust FB posters.

I searched in Google and DDG and found nothing on this except this thread.

Tyler, tx is still the assembly center for the legacy branson equipment, however the TYM (T) variant models are assembled in Caldwell, tx

"Assembly center" doesn't that just mean bolting the wheels and loader on?

Good news...received a excellent phone call from the local dealer who had a conference call with TYM yesterday on the situation.

1. They are going to replace the bad "dog ear" clips on the wheels with the new "fixed" version they are sending out with all new repair assemblies.
2. None of the tractors on the local dealer lot make the sound they can hear on my recording of our tractor.
3. They are coming next Tues to pick it up and get to the bottom of it.
4. They could not believe the "BS from the other dealer who charged $1000 for pickup and delivery and did not do anything to solve the problem...clearly they don't know anything about tractor repair or customer service."

Finally, just as a further aside...today we tried to put the John Deer mover on it and the PTO drive on the tractor is too large...you have to beat the mower shaft to get it on...and now it won't come off...so they will be having to look at that when they come get it. (it slid on and off no issue on the century/branson we traded in)

He was very sympathetic and tried to reassure me that "Tym is a decent tractor...I don't want you to think it is a pile of Sh-T...but they have some issues going on here".

I am so grateful to have their help.

Dealer, dealer, dealer...its all about the dealer.

The local Dealer sounds like great people. I hope that it is the clips but if not, at least now the local dealer can find out what really is going on. If I were you, I would find ways to support this dealer!
